  1. 1. What sort of quest's would you like to see the most?

    • Quests that introduces well written characters and well written stories.
    • Quests that have riddles and mysteries that you need to solve.
    • Stories that draws upon the Elder Scrolls Lore, and delves deep into many of the unanswered questions in the Elder Scrolls Universe. (Even though we know we're probably getting a biased answer, or probably not a complete answer)
    • Quests that will allow you to explore places you've never been before, or discover places where you thought there was nothing.
    • Quests pop out of nowhere and surprises you
    • I don't really care for stories, or concepts, or anything! I am the Dragonborn! Just point me in the general direction you want slashing!
  2. 2. Do you like the outfits created by this mod? Would you like to see more of these in the project?

    • I love it! Make as many as you can!
    • I think this one plain shirt with a few belt and color variations is enough.
    • I do not like what you have made.
      0
    • I think there are enough vanilla outfits in the game. Why create new ones?
    • I have no opinion on the matter.

 I have been invited to join the Beyond Skyrim Project Cyrodiil, and offered to get to work on a small village in the Great Forest known as Brindle Home. This village is also present in the Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and is where you preform a deliciously evil quest for the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. I will still be working hard on my own project, creating a village is not such a hazzle, I have even been given a map and certain instruction on how it is supposed to look, meaning that its all about just doing it. I think this will be a nice chance for me to work together with more experienced and talented modders, to learn from them and to be open for new idea's, it will also give me a break here and then from working on the same project day in and day out, which is a nice change. It does not mean that this project will be slowed down, it means that I will be more refreshed when I start working on it.

Nice, Have fun

I've reached a point in this mods development where I start to second guess one of my design choices. Particularly for Falkreath. Falkreath is supposed to be represent a clash between the Colovian culture and the Nordic culture, and yet whenever I visit Falkreath I feel as though I'm walking into some kind of a themepark. The ground is too clean, and flat, the place itself doesn't say Skyrim to me, it says Medieval game (which is not bad in of itself, but...). So here's the thing. I'll add a poll, take a look at these screenshots;

Trailer:

What do you think? I personally think it gets a bit flat in certain area's, but I also feel that the complete piece, the buildings, the layout, the pavement, the whole thing just doesn't fit to the Skyrim narrative, and should be replaced with something a bit more farmish and vikingish. More dirt and more inpoverishment. What do you think? Do you like it, or would you like it changed?

Edit; Yes I am aware that some of the textures look a little flat on the buildings. This has to do with the mesh, which I am afraid I did not make. I am however going to look into learning how to use Blender and Nifscope this weekend, so hopefully I can fix this before release. :) I also want to look into making custom clothing, yes clothing, there are a lot of custom armors out there already. ahh, I can see what you mean regarding the buildings. It doesn't look that bad but it would be nice to fix it up a bit. Other than that I like where the project is headed, I wouldn't change it personally, at least not that much. However I didn't see the graveyard in the video or pics (or maybe I just missed it), which if I recall correctly is the main attraction of Falkreath, Has this been expanded/edited at all?

It has. The graveyard has been expanded upon. There is now a proper chapel with a Oblivionish shrine. There is a guild there known as the Knights of the Circle, which will be joineble in the future. There is two halls of the dead, one near the graveyard, and one below the chapel. The Corpselight farm has been moved to a cliff overlooking the graveyard, and the lumbermill has moved to the slope of the hill. :)

There is also a lot more gravestones.

Update!

I've decided to re-make portions of Falkreath, to make it look a little grittier.

I've also re-done the Smithy, added a nice storage barn for the blacksmith. Its a little smaller now, too.

I've also made some updates on what objects you can interact with. Previously there were crates with food in them, but they were static, you could not pick up the crate and its content. Now you can, I've simply made it into a activator, and by activating it you can collect / steal the content.

I've also tried my hand at modeling. I've had Blender and Nifscope on my computer for over a year now, but I haven't tried my hand at it yet. I did however start very slightly with a few tutorials two weeks ago. Here is what I've made so far:

I realize this is nothing super amazing, and I have yet to learn how to get this textured and into the game, so if your experienced with this sort of thing and want to help out! Please do!
What I've done here is very simple; I've taken the male merchant mesh, which is the clay so to speak that you pour texture on, and added the prisoner rope belt to it, and removed the pouches. I have also made the collar area less thick, as I want it to be less of a pullover shirt and more of a casual shirt, if that makes any sense? Its a little frustrating for me that Skyrim is set in a very nordic orientated place, and there are no common viking shirts? The kids have them, and we get a torn up version as a prisoner outfit, but we don't get any simple outfits. There are a ton of color variations that can be put into this and make it look great
The idea here hit me when I was looking at the various Skyrim models in Blender and realized that you could create a ton of variations of the set model. What if the Bandit Fur armor had a variation without the fur scarf? What if the fine noble clothing, the one with the jacket and fur, didn't have the fur? Or the jacket for that matter? What if the leather helmet didn't have the nose-protector? Small edits like that can make the game world feel a lot more interesting, and a lot less static and repetitive. I will continue learning with Blender, and will do my best to make sure that these small variations will make it into the mod.

Remember that Falkreath was a part of Cyrodiil before the third era, so it would make sense it was colovian design. Even if it clashes with other architecture, it is supposed to be rather different.

I've made Falkreath a city without a proper identity. You will see quite a few colovian styled buildings, a few buildings one could draw the conclusion is more nordic styled, there is a lot of dirt, men wearing fur armor, pelts, deerskull decorations etc... I want it to stand out as a place where both Colovia and Skyrim meet.

Another reason I've made it like this is because Falkreath has had a pretty big impact on the Elder Scrolls history during the late second era. Considering that Falkreath played a part on getting Talos on the throne (After the king of Falkreath, king Cuhlecain was assassinated), one could argue that Falkreath would have some sway on the direction of the empire and thereby profit from it. It therefor never felt right to me how a town that competed with the other Colovian estates, and conquered Cyrodiil, could just be some Riverwood look-alike.

I hope you like the design :)
