  1. 1. What sort of quest's would you like to see the most?

    • Quests that introduces well written characters and well written stories.
    • Quests that have riddles and mysteries that you need to solve.
    • Stories that draws upon the Elder Scrolls Lore, and delves deep into many of the unanswered questions in the Elder Scrolls Universe. (Even though we know we're probably getting a biased answer, or probably not a complete answer)
    • Quests that will allow you to explore places you've never been before, or discover places where you thought there was nothing.
    • Quests pop out of nowhere and surprises you
    • I don't really care for stories, or concepts, or anything! I am the Dragonborn! Just point me in the general direction you want slashing!
  2. 2. Do you like the outfits created by this mod? Would you like to see more of these in the project?

    • I love it! Make as many as you can!
    • I think this one plain shirt with a few belt and color variations is enough.
    • I do not like what you have made.
      0
    • I think there are enough vanilla outfits in the game. Why create new ones?
    • I have no opinion on the matter.

Just looking at this makes the cities look more like cities than minor towns and it's AWESOME!

Hehe! Thank you :)

This is great. Vanilla Falkreath does feel like Riverwood, instead of a once important city, so good work, watching how this turns out...

Exactly! Now its not that I didn't like Falkreath, it was very pretty unmodded, however... it doesn't sit well with me, after reading the lore. Also, since this is a city overhaul / quest mod, it sort of figures I would have to do something to it, like a lot of other city overhaul mods. Unlike them however I want to make it memorable and stand out, and not just a overly cluttered version of the vanilla town.

Small update: I am in the middle of my first and final examination in one of my subjects at school, PHP/HTML/CSS/MySQL and will be very very busy this week, and next week. I do have the weekend off and will see if I can create a trailer for the Riften Waterfront, I make no guarantee's though as I'm also going to a birthday and will likely have a really bad hangover on Sunday. If I fail to patch something together this weekend expect it next weekend! ;)

A little upset at all the votes disliking my design of Falkreath though, I was about to take it to heart and make changes before I realized that just about all of these voters are fresh accounts, or mod-users who... well, I would have to toss aside the entire mods theme of trying to be realistic and gritty to satisfy them. I hate to say this though, but if your not into the whole realistic city theme, dirty and gritty that I am going for, and prefer colorful, flora-full, over the top clutter simply for the sake of adding clutter, then this mod is not for you, and your doing those of us who want this sort of mod a disservice by coercing the vote. If you on the other hand are, and simply want a different twist on the design, then yes! Vote, and let me know what it is you mean. :)

Is Open Cities compatibility a realistic expectation?

I... hrm.. I'll have to get back to you on that. Technically, it is possible and should be no problem. On the other hand it means your memory is likely to choke, so it will depend on your graphics and what memory-enhancing mods you have for your game. Once I've released the mod I promise to look into this for you :)

Thanks for the fast reply, I'm happy to see you're open to the idea. Keeping a close eye on this promising mod, good luck with the development.

This looks promising and I've been following it after the post on reddit. I recommenced getting in touch with the author of Jk's Skyrim (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61035/?_) and ETAC (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13608/?), I read your working on this project alone, but with there help / possible merging of mods could and probably would be the greatest skyrim mod of all time. I would be so ecstatic to see the main city mods together, and I'm sure the modding community would go crazy, as well.

As much as I respect JKrojmal's and missjennabee's work, it is different, they are very good level designer's but we have different ways of going about our projects. I don't want to merge our mods because I want my mod to be an 'as good as possible' alternative to those who prefer my style of doing it. I agree 100% with what Matthias said, he clearly put it in a more delicate way then I did, we are different. However. Rest assured that if you want to, you can combine the mods. I will have the option available for people who don't like all of my work, so that they can pick and choose. This does not however mean that you can have both JK's work on Winterhold, and my work on Winterhold in the same load order.

Otherwise, thank you for your kind words

Here is my sixth trailer for the mod project.

This trailer shows the Riften Waterfront, which is a small expansion to the city of Riften. I do realize people expected this trailer two weeks ago and I do apologize for that, all I can say is that I have been very preoccupied with one exam and one java assignment.

Let me know what you think!

Today it is exactly one year since I announced my mod project; Holds, here on the nexus forums. It has been a very busy year and I would like to talk about what progress that has been made and what remains to be done.
Since 1st of April last year I have finished Solitude's exterior level design as well as its interior with the exception of the Solitude sewer system; it is a real handful. I have finished Whiterun's exterior level design and its interiors, again with the exception of its water canal. I have finished every single settlement and I've finished Riften and Windhelm.

What remains to be done is as mentioned; The Solitude Sewer System, which is just as the name suggests, a clever way of getting in and out of the city without using the well guarded entrances. The Whiterun Water Canal which is also a sneaky way of getting in and out of the city. One final look at the interiors, throwing a few items here and there just to make sure they are all fully detailed. Creating LOD for the mod, I fear I might need some help with this and will appreciate it if someone who has worked with Tamriel LOD in the past would give me a hand. Making properly use of the permissions I have been granted by friendly modders, making sure that the NPC's outfits do not get too repetitive. Taking one extra look at the NPC's appearances and making sure they all look unique and interesting. Fixing the navmesh through TES5Edit, cleaning the mod with TES5Edit, Quick bug-testing and optimization which I will be doing with some friends to make sure this mod runs smoothly and does not have any game breaking bugs; Do note that this does not mean that the mod can't have problems, since most mods have been created with the old city set up in mind, there are bound to be some problems until proper compatibility patches can be made.

I am considering adding one or two quests before release, mainly due to the story I have in mind for two area's that will require a short price of entrance, this is to avoid problems in the future. Seeing as the current vote poll states that there is a 53,70% who want this mod released prematurely without all of the quests, systems or dialogues. Since working with Matthias on the Black Toe Meadhall mod I have noticed a leap in the activity on the polls and I will be keeping my eye on this as the time goes by and should the majority shift towards wanting me to release it when everything is implemented instead of in parts.

With that said I wish everyone who decides to read this a good Easter, I will be very busy this April and May with exams and school assignments, but I expect to have all summer to patch this mod up. If you've read through the section about what needs to be done and you know how to do these things properly and wouldn't mind giving me a hand, then please! Don't hesitate with letting me know so we can get this done. I would really appreciate the help!

Have a nice Easter!

Quick Update.

I've read some news posted here on the Nexus that Bethesda / Valve will allow mod authors who've uploaded their work to the Steamworkshop to charge money for their work.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12449/?

While I can happily say I will only upload the mod on the Skyrim Nexus mainly due to terms of agreements I have with other modders on the use of their resources.

I wish to make this update to make it clear that even should the owners/administrators on the Skyrim Nexus decide that charging people money to download mods; You will never have to pay for any of my work.

Reason for this is firstly that this mod uses certain resources that belong to other mod developers who've allowed me to use their hard-made work, and also that I simply do not believe in charging money for mods. I find the whole idea somewhat irritating as being able to quickly download mods off of the Nexus is one of the things that have kept games like Skyrim and Oblivion interesting for me. That hard working developers have allowed their work to be shared freely online is something that the community should be thankful for, with that said I do not think that mod developers should charge money for their work as it will (No matter the amount) limit a players interest in downloading mods and will ultimately mean that the joy we've had keeping our game to par with newer titles will officially be over. Now that I've made my opinion known I will repeat myself: You will not have to pay me, or anyone else money to download and play any of my up and coming work. :)
