BlackOmega
Mah, the title says it all.. I bet there's a lot of people in the community with knowledge in this area. Seeing all the model and texture packs out there, I just wondered if it's possible to replace the water shader, since it's a bit ugly compared to what we see in games like FarCry or Age of empires 3. I'm not really sure if it's easy to replace a shader, From what I know a shader effect is something like a text file with the code lines for the shader that the engine compile and run acording to the graphics hardware.. at least I think doom3 works this way, don't know about Morrowind.. Anyway, it a sugestion... And another thing that would really look nice would be a mod to add a light bloom (hdr -like) effect to the game engine, but I doubt this one is possible since it would involve messing with the engine rendering codes, and since we don't have the source code it's impossible... If morrowind was an Opengl game we could just use that smartshader that adds bloom to all opengl games on ati cards ¬¬ it's a shame it's a d3d based game =[
Peregrine
I don't think it's possible. Morrowind's shaders are part of the game engine, so you'd have to hack the .exe files to edit them.
Slaiv
I don't think it's possible. Morrowind's shaders are part of the game engine, so you'd have to hack the .exe files to edit them.It would be impressive, but like Peregrine said, impossible. Unless you're a programming wizard. In which case, it would still be illegal. Something similar to this existed - pixel shaded grass for Morrowind. It was supposed to be part of the MEMod, and there were a few other "freelancers" out there trying to do it. Some got pretty far, but I'm not sure if they finished.
