Most of the popular scifi show, they have a set of detail worksheet on the dimension of each ship, where there bridge locate, mass and such. If the ship gains popularity, they will release blueprints and fans fill out the rest.

I bought a Millennium Falcon model for $150 2 years ago and they are all up to scale. They are really detail and I think these kind of ship also have such models. The problem is with prices since more details will cost you more.

Anyway, as a Trekkie fan, I am more interest in Voyager, but Enterprise is a good ship too.

Agreed! the freak level of this project is awesome, but as you say, there's plenty of material to work and to do the ship properly.... and the voyager is a cool ship too, but its just a 1/4 insightful than the enterprise^^

Hope to see it soon^^

Well, again, been a while since the last update here; so, the current progress:

Main engineering is essentially complete; but, that portion of the build was interrupted in an effort to deviate for a film project.

Timing didn't work out; but, it led to a shift of focus to the bridge deck where work has been progressing of late. The Bridge

deck assets are nearly complete.

The texturing on everything is largely just simple blinns within max for now as Texturing is intended to be the last phase of the build prior to final export. Questions, comments and critiques always welcome. Thanks for having a look. Enjoy.

Those are some beautiful pictures, Havoc. Are they your work or are they from the original Star Trek set? To be frank I am just stunned. I'm glad to see that you are still interested in this project. For your information I have saved all of these pictures to use as inspiration should I ever get around to doing the bridge set as a scale model. I've never seen shots as good as these.

Thank you kindly. Yes, these are indeed renders from the project. I used to post screencaps that included wireframes; but, I've long since stopped doing that. I've had a lot of people mistake my renders for photos of the original sets. For me, that's high praise that I hope to continue living up to. Still have a ton of work left to do; but, the distance behind is a lot further than the distance ahead at this point .. I hope.

A good few pieces needs to be smoothed.

Also needs some texture. It's better to work on the texture as you go, since it will become quite the thing to do in the end, if you save it.

I will give you a clap for doing it, but so far this is something that would't fit in anywhere but a LEGO game.

I must admit though, you are good for actually still having motivation for this! Most artist seem to drop something if it exceeds a month. I am guilty of that as well.

Looking forwards for some good renders at one point!

Question, though, do you High poly or Low poly model? Some shots I see high poly renders, and the next 12 items is low poly.

Either that, or you only model low poly, but got some good lightning going on!

Good luck onwards!

Cheers,

Matth

This is simply awesome work! I am almost speechless at what I am seeing here! I have had ideas for doing a complete set of decks for both the original Enterprise and the Klingon D-7 (I have a set of deck layouts for both) for Fallout 3, but my skill level is far from being able to do so at this time. I eagerly await more updates and a possible in game model!
