witch i dont get honestly ! i mean whats the use for it ? see how this and this race are made ? how big the boob on that race are ? what color is the skin of this one ?
This simply means you don't understand or know all the possible uses.

Let me clarify using a few examples:

Example #1 - You want to be a Stargate SG1 member and have similar companions but you cannot get the faces to look right. Solution, find savegames / races such as Stargate Team for Oblivion.

Example #2 - You are playing a female character and you reached level 35. You grow tired of your particular character's appearance but you do not want to start a new character. Solution: Create or download a new savegame with the face how you want it to look. Then use Wrye Bash or Oblivion Face Exchange Lite to transfer the face from one savegame to another. Reference: Oblivion Face Totality Pack

Example #3 - You want to start a new game but want to avoid the sewer training and jump straight to the sewer exit. Solution: Most savegames on TESNexus are saved at the sewers exit to allow you to skip the training area but still configure your character at the last moment.

Example #4 - You want to start a new game with a different character but do not care to start at level 1 and prefer to step into somebody else's character at a higher level. Solution: There are several savegames that are at various levels. Reference: BETA Testing Characters

Example #5 - Same scenario as #4 but add to that, you can also transplant a preferred face on top of that character: Reference: Oblivion Face Totality Pack

Example #6 - You are working on a mod that adds a bunch of people to a castle but you want them all to be very attractive but cannot get the results yourself using the character creator. Solution: Download desired savegames and transfer their setup to an NPC you have in your plugin using Wrye Bash or Oblivion Face Exchange Lite.

Example #7 - Pride in the character that you created and the desire to share it.

I haven't looked into the matter, but I am not exactly sure how to use a downloaded savegame. I could put the file where it belongs, but wouldn't my active mod list have to match the active mod list of the savegame in order to make it work totally right? I would maybe have to download fifty mods I don't have to get in synch with the savegame. And what if the savegame was created on old mod versions that are no longer available? I guess the game wouldn't have to be perfect, but you wouldn't want it to be too flawed.
When somebody creates a savegame, a list of all .esp plugins that are active are stored with the plugin. You can use OBMM to examine the plugin to see what was active when the game was saved.

Usually, the only plugins that are necessary for the savegame to work properly are the race, hair and eye mods but usually it's just the custom races. The collection I put together called "Oblivion Face Totality Pack" was an effort to consolidate all the savegames to the bare-minimum requirements. You can do this as well by creating a savegame with no plugins enabled. Then take the savegame that might have hundreds of plugins associated with it and "transfer" the face from the bloated savegame to your clean savegame. The only requirements is that you have the correct custom race mod active which is easily visible when using Oblivion Face Exchange Lite. I have "clean" savegame files included in the Oblivion Face Totality Pack for each race which is setup just before the sewers exit and everything that can be collected in the tutorial dungeon is either in the inventory or laying on the ground just before the exit so you can pick-n-choose what to take with you.

LHammonds, you are a model to emulate. I was so tired of seeing the same sort of "I don't understand the purpose, therefore there is no purpose", that it interfered with my usual drive to provide useful information. Answering the question in detail as you did helps everyone who reads it, not just the original poster. Thank you. :)

Count me as one who has imported these save game files to create good NPCs in my mods, as well as companions.

;) You're welcome. This is the strong point of what the modding community is all about and why I am still here. People doing the very same thing allowed me to learn from others and then turn around and share what I have learned. I usually put things into tutorials but sometimes questions such as these are just a bit too uncommon to warrant a tutorial I suppose.

I like making characters and have many times been asked for my characters. To this point I haven't shared, but after a recent request I am planning to do so with some of my random NPCs. I prefer not to share my main player characters, but those characters I've made just to populate my world I am much more willing to share.

Finally, you just had to go and step on my pet peeve, didn't ya?

The saved game is all about the face; breast size has nothing to do with it, as is dictated by a completely different system of mod - the face will go on to whichever body has been selected or added. A clean saved game won't have any mods except those that are used to make the face. I think that's more than obvious. I think my next mod will be castrated penises. That's about how I feel whenever someone wants to make derogatory comments about breasts. I know how to use blender.

This breast hatred seems to come in the form of immature people who are afraid of any hint of adult sexuality; and those who idealize masculinity to the extent of misogyny. I don't like it, and I have every right to make clear how offensive I find it. If it's not to your taste keep it to yourself, I don't normally go around bitching about all the breastless pedophile mods all over the place around here.

(adding example of my own)

Example #8 - Or, you could upload (or download) a savegame, with the face created using the "Oblivion FaceGen" mod, so your savegame can have faces like anyone on this world, even a celebrity. (find it here). Sadly not many people upload savegames using this.

**snip**

You obviously do not fully understand the "Thread Necromancy" rule.

It really does not matter how old a thread is "if" you are adding information to it. Simply replying and saying "yep" or something else generally useless would count as Thread Necromancy for older / forgotten threads. However, Ancient Aeon added an example to my own list which was a clarification point to the thread.

Should I point out Chapter IX in regards to your post?

EDIT: Doh! Sorry, I didn't see the post by asdasdsuper, but my last sentence still applies.

Oops, didn't see asdasdsuper's post. Didn't know it was kinda thread necromancy.

(adding more examples, again)

Example #9 - Or you can look at this topic, the ways you can put a save game face to a companion (but I don't get it).

Example #10 - Or you can change your character's face and take another save game's face by using this program, then make a copy yourself to become a companion (using a mod) and tweak the copy. Then change your character's face back to normal.

(not really sure)
