Problem with OBMM installing

I have Oblivion installed on my C: drive. I just redownloaded it as a fresh copy and so it's totally unmodded and untouched. I installed OBMM from Timeslip's site and used the self installer. I have only lightly used OBMM before, and remember that all I had to do was download a mod and then I could point the OBMM to "add archive" and have it install the mod by pointing to the archive. Correct?

Well, now I'm trying this, and it's not working. I point to the archive and wait but nothing loads up. It doesn't open any files and fill in any of the data on the omod creator screen. Just blank.

Any answers?

Are you opening an OMOD compatible archive? (This just means there's an omod script inside the archive)

Can you list what mod your trying to install? (If the mod only contains data files and no plugin esps, the filter options won't list anything. The default is to only show the esps in the mod)

FYI - Not all mod archives can be directly converted to an OMOD.

You need to examine the contents of the archive first. If it is not packaged properly, you will have to extract it to a temporary folder and arrange everything yourself and then use the "Add Folder" and point it to the temporary folder to create the OMOD.

What they said.

To add something more, you might want to look at Wrye Bash. The installation is admittedly more involved, but once you've installed it, you will find that it's much better for "Point and click" mod installation.

You simply need to move your mods as archives to the Bash mods folder.

Then you can use Wrye Bash to install mods and OBMM to order them exactly how you want :D

I have never been able to successfully reach the official Wrye Bash page (so I don't know of an online Tutorial) and had to download Wrye Bash from a 3rd party source, but the download should include extensive instructions on how to do all that I've mentioned.
