The worst game you've ever played?

Ok I will tell you why I chose MW2 in just a sec but first I have to pre-(insert word i can't think of here) first.

 

If you have ever played any type of on-line game (not just FPS) you know that there are going to be to a greater or lesser degree the following:

 

Hackers = People that hack the game itself changing files in order to boost (XX) factor in their favor. Usually to the max at one time thus giving themselves elite stats from the get go. IE: Earning 1,000,000 points for things that normally you earn very slowly thus giving you Level 70 + 10 prestige from the get go.

 

Cheaters = People that use a program or set of instructions during the game that gives them an unfair advantage over everyone on the server. IE: God mode, faster running, Aim bots, wall hacks etc...

 

Glitchers = People that take advantage of a map glitch or built in area that may or may not have been intentionally left in by the developer. IE: Using a crate or ledge to get to an area of a map that everyone knows is there and could get to but don't because they know it is wrong or getting to an area of the map that you should not be in, either under it or outside of the normal playing area.

 

Abusers = People that upon learning that a certain weapon or item is the bane of everyone on the server and/or is looked at as over powered continue to use said weapon or item. IE: The entire team using noob tubes or shot guns.

 

Racists = This is pretty self explanatory.

 

Immaturity/Punks/$%#$ talkers/Haters = People who it seems their only purpose in the game is to try and ruin it for everyone else through incessant whining and crap talking or annoying actions.

 

Bunny Hoppers = People who hop around the map like a bunny.

 

Bunny Hopper - Dolphins = People that hop around the map and dive.

 

Now normally in any on-line game one or two of these in each game/round is not uncommon but for the most part every single game I have played thus far in MW2 has had at least 6 - 7.

 

That is why it has become the worst game I have ever played. I still continue to play it however only so I can unlock everything and go back through it to get my Level 10 Prestige Rank so I myself and friends only can hold a private server game and not have to set on public servers again.

 

Don't get me wrong it is still fun, but I hate the game! If that makes any sense :blink:

I understand completely. When I used to play Command and Conquer Renegade online, there was someone doing something like that every game. My solution? I applied for moderator status and got approved. Though I understand that's going to be way to hard to achieve in a game as popular as MW2. Just keep in mind, the game isn't all that bad, the players are. But yes, i can understand that would really ruin the whole feel of the game.

I have two games that I think are absolutely disgraceful:

 

Star Trek Legacy - I'll admit to being a Star Trek fan and apart from that a fan of Bethesda Games. I found that star trek legacy was a let down of a title due to dated graphics upon time of release, limited starfleet combat and finally very linear gameplay.

 

Star Wars Racer - If you have ever played this game you'll know the point to the pointlessness of this pointless mindless boring star wars racing game with anican skywalker uuurgghh! :unsure:

Hackers do not ruin the game. They simply mod their level so that they can look cooler. Sure, they get access to all weapons, but hackers usually are people who aren't skilled so you can kill them easily. Cheaters? I have never came across them. Glitchers? The only glitch I know of is the one in Highrise where you can get atop the highest building. I'm not even sure if that's a glitch, you probably can do that legitimately. Tubers, noobs and idiots do exist, I'll give you that, but you can just mute them all. If you're smart enough, you can easily avoid getting tubed. Bunny hoppers, dolphins? Did you invent that for the sake of making MW2 a bad game? You mean dropshooters? That's not a bad thing, it's a common tactic and quite clever actually.

Yeah there are several locations on the maps that you can get to that you are legitimately supposed to be able to get to. However there are glitches where you can get into rocks on Afghan and also an exploit that you can use with a CP marker that enables you to run faster than everyone else. The M203 grenade launcher? Play me and I will use the M203, see if you can keep from getting killed. Your comment about "if you are smart enough" has no merit because when it is raining 40mm grenades you might as well say "if you are smart enough you do not have to breath oxygen". I actually do not get upset about any weapon in the game being used. I don't think people using the M203 are "noobs" or that it is a noobish weapon, however I will agree with those people that say it is abused when half the other team is using it. Mute is not really an option for me as I never use in game voice chat anyway, besides I was not really talking about verbal I was talking about typed. Bunny hoppers = people that hop around the screen like idiots. And the dolphins? Yeah sure I have dove down. I do it regularly sometimes behind cover. What I am talking about are people that hop around like idiots then dive down and then immediately start hopping around again to avoid being shot. While this rarely helps them win an encounter with me it does take a couple of seconds longer to kill them. And it just draws away from the game.

 

Add all that to then dedicated servers which I am not even going to get started on and the numerous other things (and there are plenty) that are wrong with the game and to me it is the worst game I have ever played. I do enjoy playing it but my thresh hold for idiocy is lower. I can probably sit and play FO3 or Oblivion or R6V2 even COD4 for about 90 minutes before I have to get up and do something else for awhile. MW2 I can play for maybe 2 rounds before I have to perform self surgery and remove my lover with a Piranha.

Incidentally did prestige only so that it will keep a running total of my kills per weapon. I really only play the game so that I can unlock everything and then be able to play with friends only in private matches. Though it will take a lot for me to prestige again and a lot will mean that they will have to have dedicated servers or fix a lot of things. I have based my feelings on experience. And I even looked into these things to se if others felt the same or not and yes a majority of people do and they are people that are the top players in the game so you can hardly call them "noobs" or people that do not know how to play. I know you did not but I was trying to be proactive as I don't know you and that is usually the next line people use when trying to make a point.

 

So anyway yeah... How bout you answer the question with "The Worst Game You've Ever Played"?

There are a few things that bug me in Modern Warfare 2. And here’s a list of them :

 

1) Lack of dedicated servers. I agree, however the migration thing is an inconvenience the no dedi is just an atrocity. This sounds similar to what someone posted on the COD4 boards.... could that be you?

 

2) Campers. Ahh yes... hmm you really cannot do anything about these people and I usually find that there are about 2-3 per game. They do suck at times but once you know the maps you can ferret them out. The key here is to not feed them. Meaning don't go back to get revenge thus making their k/d go up.

 

3) Sprayers. This used to be a serious issue in CoD4, because machine guns were so imbalanced and overpowered back then. Now, almost nothing has changed. There are those that will shoot you through a wall when you’re trying to reload or get your health back up, which is again, very annoying. I did not understand this as getting kills with the FMJ attachment on your weapon is a requirement for unlocking extended mags. Unless you meant just people running up to walls and random spraying because they have 100 rounds, not knowing you are there. In any event bullets go through walls (but not mattresses apparently)

 

4) Knifers. Yeah and when they are holding a CP marker have marathon, LW and commando as perks well you cannot really kill them. Only the CP marker knifers bug me that other ones I can deal with.

 

4) Tubers. We covered this above.

 

5) Noobs. I actually never call anyone a noob. so in my world there is not such thing. Maybe that is because the word gets thrown around so much that it is meaningless. I mean seriously in a game the other day one of the top players of MW2 was called a noob by someone and all anyone could do was type stuff like "lol" basically not saying anything because of the asinine statement made by someone who obviously did not know who they were playing against so it really was a joke on them. However I will agree with you about people using TDM or Objective games as there own little FFA farm.

 

6) Care package stealers. I will steal the opposing teams CP's. But the only time I will take my teammates is if it sits there for 15-20 seconds and they do not claim it. Personally if I throw a CP marker and die only to respawn on the other side of the map, well there is nothing "that" important in that CP to make me bust my butt to get back to the other side and retrieve it. I would rather just get kills and capture points. I will also type in team chat "someone take that CP at (XX location) before the enemy gets it"

 

7) Model 1887 akimbo’ers. What can I say. I feel your pain! I agree with the Akimbo 1887's yeah they really need to go, I don't know where IW got the idea you can fire two basically sawed off shotguns from the 1800's while running and get accurate head shots not to mention without breaking your wrists uhg...

final fantasy (I played many and dude they all sucked, especially when it got animeish and stupid, claude or cloud or whomever it be looks like a weedy little emo (his hair totally sucks) the buster blade was pointless and ugly and those little cute birds just made me sick, anything that's cute makes me want to blow my brains out.

pokemon, I mean, what the hell? what's the point in making pikachu have all the fun if you could just toss a pipe bomb.

I guess we aren't so different after all. Sorry for my uhh.. potential trolling. I just didn't see a level hacker ruining my experience or a glitcher or a cheater. Perhaps IW added some protection system with the latest patches?

 

I am getting rather nostalgic these days and would like to revisit Call of Duty 4, would you think it's worth it? I mean I sure as hell will miss all the weapons, new perks and killstreaks in modern warfare 2, but in call of duty 4, there still are those tubers and sprayers and campers and stuff. I don't know, I just want to play a game while enjoying it, not while having to curse at every goddamn idiot that annoys the hell out of me.

 

And the worst game I've ever played? Hmm... quite tough really... Battlefield Heroes, haha! Horrible, horrible game. Oh, and Runescape!
