fanbongo1
This body had a book or something on him and it told a story of a wretched creature and how it intertwined with this person's life. I forgot what the quest was and even the name of the monster however i remember it being a pretty bizarre name. Anywho when i first encountered this dead body i thought to myself "did i kill this person?" because like everyone else during their first time they go out and kill everybody that is killable in cheydinhal. Or maybe that's just me. But then i read his story and was COMPLETELY enthralled! I had to get to the bottom of this story. I vaguely remember the rest of the story because it's been so long but i remember at the time right before i gave up trying to find the "monster" i saw a glimmer in the distance and my senses just lit up in excitement and fear of what this thing was. As i got closer and closer the shimmering started to fade and then the disappointment. The monster was merely a larger "Troll" with a light shimmer to it. It wasn't even that strong! ugh! This was quite disappointing but the adventure in itself and anticipation made me able to remember this quest to this day. Even though i only did it once. Add to it that this quest was not even listed in the "Quests" tab either which i found very mysterious i just had to pursue it. Why aren't there more "secret" side quests involving legendary beasts like this? After i saw the end of that story i was greatly anticipating more mysteries like this but i couldn't find myself getting interested and pursuing any mysterious and enchanting (were there any more? i can't remember) notes that i found afterwards. Anyways if you actually read all of that then kudos! lol. This was my first character in oblivion which i started about over a year ago.
Omeletter
This unmarked quest's beast is called The Uderfrykte Matron. There's a lot adventures in caves and stuff. Also, if you need something like this quest, find Lost Boy Cavern.Warning! Read this first! http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Lost_Boy_Cavern if you don't it may result in bug, that won't allow to complete the quest. Sharkull
There are about two hundred quests in vanilla Oblivion, and only about half are part of the Main, and 4 Guild quest lines... plenty of variety to give you surprises here and there, but there are only a few non-journal quests... Edit, and your "surprise" is described here:http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:The_Horror_of_Dive_Rock

3rdtryguy
The game which came before Oblivion, Morrowind, had a little questline in it regarding the Uderfrykte, which was basically Grendel. This monster is Grendel's mother. It would have made a lot more sense to you if you had ever played Morrowind, which I very highly recommend you do!Yep.. lots of really neat stuff in this game. wasder
This reminds me of when I was a newbie, I was wandering about in the Imperial Reserve, when I came across a rotting corpse floating face down in a pool, with a note on it. That was odd.

3rdtryguy
I had a mod once which was his now vacant house. Nice player house, too, but it turned out that Nath was in the Dark Brotherhood!I wonder how many mods use him somehow?
