csb Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 First, you'll want two must-have utilities: Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) by Timeslip and FO3Edit by ElminsterAU. The first is the mod manager par exellence for Fallout3, letting you set your load order (its most common task), as well as providing other management functionality. The second is essential for finding mod conflicts and resolving them. You'll also want Miax's great FO3Edit Guide - Web-enized. Insofar as what mods to get? It all depends on what your style of play is and what you are looking for in your gaming experience. I could recommend a lot of mods, some big, some small, but they are based on what I want out of the game. Some like realism and immersion, some like uber kick-butt and take-names style of play. Or somewhere between. Neither is right or wrong, as what matters is your customized enjoyment of Fallout3. Check out the different categories. Start with the Top 100 list, browse categories that meet your needs. Then start implementing mods a few at a time. Play a bit. Add more. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hope to publish my own mod here soon but my GECK isn't working so check out the other post by me and if you guys could help out with that I'd appreciate it. csb Posted November 5, 2009 Share Posted November 5, 2009 I'll second the DC Interiors Project .. really great work. Arefu Expanded is also great. For some different sort of adventure mods, check out Puce Moose's mods ... An Evening with Mr. Manchester is top-notch. Return to Shady Sands is good. There are a lot of great game-balance/realism mods. Arwen's and Survival of the Fittest. Megaton Tweaks is good too. MMM, especially with increased, increased spawns. Enchanted Weather, Fellout. Lighting Overhaul and others add to the environment. lol ... hard to narrow down my list, I have well over 175 now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
