jaosals42
Yeah, I know...something about Maxis games...Sim City 4 is like that too. I'm not into those games, but my grandma loves them and we're computer tech support for her...so we get to listen to how crap the game is haha. Bugs galore...ah the wonderful world of PC gaming, eh? ;) Bugs, annoying "anti-pirate" software, $6 DLCs, what's next? :P Windows 7 haha LOL Windows 7...personally like it a lot, haven't had any issues...because I haven't installed it yet :P Nah, in all seriousness, the bf had been using the beta and RC and never had any issues really with anything. Both have OEM copies right now, I just can't be bothered to reformat :P Out of Oblivion's DLCs, I enjoyed Mehrunes Razor out of all of them. It was a very challenging dungeon. Bethesda's DLCs are worth it. Even FO3's DLCs looked pretty cool, didn't purchase them as the DVD became one with the microwave :P I wasn't very happy with it as you can tell lol. My uncle just loves map packs for his Xbox360 games and I just laugh and say "You do realize it took them like 5 minutes to whip up those maps and they are charging you $7?" ;D Yeah, some game extensions are good. I didn't think Mehrunes Razor was that badly priced, and at least the dungeon respawned so you could go back again and get more loot from the guys there. Horse armor would've been a waste though, as I never even use horses in Oblivion anyway. I don't know what all the gruff was with OA for Fallout 3 though. I enjoyed it quite well (though I bought it with the Pitt and OA DLC bundle so the price wasn't too much). At least it wasn't something like Horse armor or spell tomes, which just belongs in their servers still. As you can see, I usually think DLC's that add game-extensions are worth it. They require more work than a simple armor retexture or something that you can get through a simple console command. At least they made something new that'll keep you busy for some more time. Maybe the occasional additional armor or weapon is alright as long as it is included in a game extension (RE: Mehrunes Razor). And lol at the Windows 7 thing. ;D
Harabec Weathers
Oh geeze I remeber Horse Armor and Spell Tombs for Oblivion lol. What a joke that was haha. No way was I going to spend money on that garbage lol. They came with Knights of the Nine, along with the other DLCs all together on a disc. That was cool of Beth, GFWL, not cool of Beth. Most uncool if you ask me, but I dont stoke that fire too much since we all know and hate the infamous GFWL :yucky: Im not surpised with what EA is doing, they are ALL about the money, to hell with the customers, all they want is money money money. I know they are company and the whole reason for having a company is to make money, but not the way EA does it (Mass Effect), terrible customer support is my biggest problem with them. Also that whole anti-piracy thing they had on the PC version of Mass Effect made me hate them. Ive been saying it all along, gaming is going down the tubes. Like EVERYTHING gets pirated but people who obtain and own the products legitimately have to deal with anti-piriacy crap in our games and systems. It's essentially like paying someone $10 to kick you in the shins once every time you leave the house for a few months. Copy protection services don't come cheap and have almost no net benefit. Haha honestly, Id much have someone punch me in the face everytime I buy I game rather than deal with the copy protection crap. Lol sounds like a good trade off to me. Yea a punch in the face would hurt, but it heals lol, where as anti-piracy software doesnt ever go away.

It may, if gaming companies ever learn that no matter what they do, it's impossible to stop the piracy issues (not saying I do it of course). It's just like drugs or pornography or something like that: No matter what happens, it's not going to go away. Just don't involve yourselves in it, and let those people who want to mess themselves up, get messed up (like the pirates and courts). Best thing to do IMO, is just to report the actions. Not to mention piracy often serves as free publicity anyway. With only a few exceptions, every game I've bought within the last 9 years, I've bought because I liked it after trying it one way or another :whistling: . Although I have been burned by giving a game a free pass on my "try before buy" policy before... (Space Empires 5, I'm lookin at YOU! Grrr. At least it came with a free copy of SE4 Deluxe) Also, I've twice bought games specifically because of their lack of (or extremely feeble) anti-piracy measures. One such game is still in the shrinkwrap. I'll unwrap it and play it one of these days, I swear! (That game being GalCiv II, a 4X game that I should like if I ever get around to installing it)
