PS. if you're wondering why there isn't a Dragon Age Nexus, BioWare have released their own site to host mods for the game. I'm keeping a close eye on it.

Well, something has changed I guess :). I've seen a couple of sites recently offering a place for mods and discussion of this game, I guess that's why there will be here so as well. The forum is up and a DANexus is being created...what do you think about all of this?

Time for a poll!

I have a question, granted I am not trying to bag on anyone or this game so don't take this the wrong way. What makes ever1 think that this game is going to be that long lasting? I mean I can see Oblivion which you could possibly get 300 hours out of or more? (hope that is correct) but I remember when LOTR:BFME 1 and 2 came out all the sites that went up and huge forums that ever1 was happy about and now they are pretty much dead. That's just that type of game. I could list any number of games that were huge for a year and then died in all genres, so what makes ever1 think this game is different. I am only asking because maybe I am missing the points while reading about a game or playing it that I should be paying attention too in order to be able to better judge whether I should buy it or not. If it is going to be a winner or not. You know kind of like a person that works as a food critic has to know what to look for in certain foods. I hope this is making sense.

So I am not cutting the game down or those that play it, I actually cannot wait until I have enough spare time to install it (sitting here next to me) and play it myself. Looks like a lot of immersible lose yourself fun.

Well, I"m really expecting a long life for this game. You can look at the other Bioware games (NWN specifically), it has a lot of modules and there are ppl that still play it. And, Bioware promised to release a lot of DLC yet (like 2 years of dlc, I don't remember). So, I think that the mods and the dlc's together, will help to extend the game life-time.

The bioware social site is very disorganised and there are lot of ppl complaining about it. I'm looking forward for the Dragon Age Nexus to come. For sure it'll be a better place for mods than the social site. =p

This is great news, the mod hosting on Biowares site is a shambles. I was going to post about this on the toolset forum over there but their board has decided my game isn't registered even though it is and I have access to everything else.

I was referrring to it being such a short game. I don't remember how long vanilla Oblivion or Fallout 3 is and if it is comparable to the time it would take to play DA:O. Also I thought NWN and NWN 2 were mmorpg's? Am I wrong? Am I thinking of another game? Maybe I am thinking of Everquest. If I am wrong then it seems from all the comments of how godd NWN 1 & 2 were tht I missed out. THat makes me sad in the pants

They have multiplayer but they aren't MMOs, both have a strong single player.
