Mathalor
I need to know how to check to see if I'm hitting any of the maximums that Skyrim can hit with my modding. I also need to know if there are any problems with skse 1.7, asis 1.40.8, enb 1.36 (graphic modifications disabled), or the latest version of hialgo boost that might be causing my problem. And if it's possible that the scripting from one mod conflicts with the script from another mod, I need to check that too. I get crashes to desktop regularly. They usually happen when saving, or on load screens, but sometimes just randomly while playing. They happen irregularly, sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes an hour. They can happen anywhere. I went through a lot of effort making my mods compatible with each other using tes5edit and a master plugin patch, but I'm really new to this. I also disabled several mods that either I couldn't make compatible, or had reports of instability (yes, I started a new game afterward). I don't know how to check the scripts that some of them run, to see if there's a problem there. This had the effect of making everything work really well together, but didn't abate the CTDs. There are several other things that I can think of that might be causing the problem. I need some means of determining why I'm still getting CTDs. camaro_69_327
Things that help... "Skyrim Performance Monitor" Run that while playing it will show you how your system is doing. The Graphs help a lot. When you get a "random" crash...go right back and do the exact sane thing...verify it is indeed random. "BOSS"<<download that , sort your list, Read the LOG fully and follow the suggestions, do the cleaning, YES clean the Official DLC's.Any mods that ends up in the UNrecognized section(bottom of Load Order) need to be placed. **"Wrye Bash"<< everyone really does need to learn to use this. If only to make a Bashed patch for now. ""TESVEdit'" Because when BOSS says a mod needs cleaning that's what you will be using. **Have been using Wrye Bash since the beginning...This Load out i have...309 installers , Netting me 179 Plugins. Game is Rock solid. Did the Stress test for 45 mins no crash. (see below). Vurt's Stress test = Open the console (~) type... "player.setav speedmult 1500" then type "TCL" (both without the Quotes) see how long you last...lol IF the speed does not increase at first, draw your weapon, toggle run, not sure which made the speed take off...lol. IT will stutter like mad, pause , BUT it should not crash. the Game engine can handle this, I covered the entire map to be sure I would not crash later as i played. Fly low to force things to load. Mathalor
skyrim performance monitor - I downloaded an skse plugin that gives me my performance info while I'm playing. I can tell you fps dips near big cities, and my memory used fluctuates between 700 mb and just over 1g. I don't know how to use that information to help me identify the source of CTDs, and I don't know what the maximum is before the memory itself will cause a crash. Random crashes are random. Loading the game and recreating the circumstances does not reproduce the crash. Boss and Loot are both downloaded. DLC and a few mods are cleaned. Load order re-adjusted according to specific mod instructions by mod authors. Already use wrye bash, it's a neat tool. Kind of superfluous in function now that I can make my own compatibility patch from scratch, but saved me some time. Never heard of a stress test. Honestly these are good tools, but they're all things I already use or don't see how they'll help. Original request - "I need to know how to check to see if I'm hitting any of the maximums (graphical, processor use, memory, etc) that Skyrim can hit with my modding. camaro_69_327
OK ..I guess we can try this with links and PICS.. Skyrim Performance Monitor = Graph you run in background while playing. When you exit you can analyze what the Graph shows. IF your at max on the GPU or MAX on the CPU you will SEE it. The limit for the game as far as RAM goes is 3.1 GBThe limit on the VRAM = 192 GB (if using the Memory compression for ENBoost.) true we wont be able to do this for about 10 years but Boris gave us the stuff now! Graph during my 45 min stress test. i gave info how to do the stress test above...Normal game Graph.Process Explorer a free tool from Microsoft , also great for knowing what is going on. As far as the other things , only thing i cant vouch for is Hailago boost, I don't use it ..no need. I am using 1.7 SKSE and using SUM to run Duel Sheath redux with Skyre and REproccer. All work fantastic. (not using ASIS so can't say)This next pic was the last 2 hours in the game. PIC Notice in this pic the pop-up at my mouse (center) is showing the System Commit @ 8.8 GB RAM in use...4.6 Physical RAM in use. Anyone with 4 GB ram would have long since crashed.Looks Great with the latest ENB (251)and Serenity ENB version 5-51343-5-0No idea how to check if one mods scripts are messing with another....What are the Mods??What are your System specs.? Post your BOSS log in Spoiler tags....
Mathalor
I realize I have a long mod list and an older system. It can slow things down. I've put a lot of work into getting it to run as well as possible, including turning down some of the graphics on my game, and using tes5edit to scan for conflicts, and addressing them manually. I'm hoping there's more I can do about the game crashing other than buying a new setup. I'll try that performance monitor when I get things running again. I don't think I'll be hitting the 3.1 max any time soon.4 gb ram,260 gtx video card8gb vramamd dual core processor, 3100 Mhz Loading graphically intensive stuff in game seems to slow my computer, but not crash it. Crashes seem to happen on load screens, saving the game, and randomly when walking around, in order of frequency. Also, as mentioned above, I tend to use loot, then modify the load list, so this is in no way my final load order.
