Zmid
read the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy it tells u the answer to life the universe and everything it is ...........................42 I've never read this, and I seriously doubt I ever will. But what ind of claims do they base that answer upon?? What do they mean by 42?? And why do they compare the universe to an equation? This confuses the heck out of me, so I need some explanation please. Just to give a more complete explanation, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a comedy book by the late Douglas Adams. In it, there was a culture that built a massive computer called Deep Thought to find the answer to life, the universe and everything. After many millions of years of computation, the answer provided was 42. It was then realised that no-one actually knew what the question was, so they built another computer to ascertain this. This computer was planet sized and went by the name of Earth and was destroyed 15 minutes before the final readout to make way for an interstellar hyperspace bypass. It is an utterly bizarre book, but very funny.

Adamastor
im very sick and tired of saying the same thing over and over, so after this post i will totaly abondon the thread. it has gone in the total oposite way it was supposed to go but whatever. the apple/glass analogy is just that, an analogy. wherein apple (mass) is destroyed to give way to glass (energy) but, again, whatever. the later response in which someone states that matter and energy might be the same thing is actually doing something productive for this thread. i will alos re-itterate. in a nuclear explosion matter is destroyed (or converted just to shut idea assasin up) to release energy. it is a very small amount matter and thus a reletively small amount of energy. if you dont belive me look it up. the research was done just after einstein went to the usa after his e=mc^2 thingy. im not saying that that is proof but im just situating it in time. and now farewell
