Site Ad Sounds

Yeah, I know some folks will think I'm whining but I'm really not. Just want to know.

Ads are a fact of browsing but I came across two today for DA that had sound, unusually loud sound to me. Are sound ads going to be a pretty common thing? If so is there a way to turn that off? The sound that is.

I usually have other sounds/music going in the background so I'd really rather not turn off system sound. Don't remember hearing the ads on the Elder Scrolls nexus site. Course it could have been there and I don't remember it.

Anyway just wondered if I could turn it off when I come across one. I tried to see what the options were by right clicking on it but as usual for flash they are pretty much all locked.

Just wondered.

Really glad you made/put up this site btw. Thanks.

Can you do a screenshot if it happens again, narrows it down for us....and perhaps Dark0ne can have that one deleted from the mix. But we need to know which one it is first.

Thanks

Yeah, I tend to remove these when I come across them, but with the way online advertising works it's sometimes very difficult to get even half of them, especially being from the UK and all when most ads are targetted to the US.

post the image in the image share section here and post a link for Dark0ne. We don't like obtrusive ads, but we don't see them when we are logged in and we are always logged in.

Ironic that this topic was mentioned here.

I was looking through today's newest files and almost flew (literally) out of my chair by screaming from an ad of the New Moon movie. (which I'm dying to see btw). I've never come across the 'sound' ads here on nexus so for sure took me by surprise lol

Ok, had one burst out on me today. In fact I got two in a row. They are Dragon Age ads, heh. I took a screenshot of the end of it and when the other played I took a random part of the ad thinking it might help you identify which DA ad it was.

Here are the links to the two images I took:

Sound Ad 1 - DA

Sound Ad 2 - DA

I don't know if this will help but this was the ad script on the page:

 ab02b9ce&cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE' target='_blank'>

I'm no scripter so it is probably formatted very wrong but I thought I would add it anyway.

Hope this helps and is what you were looking for.

I should add this isn't a deal breaker or anything. I just thought I would bring it up. The main reason I mention it is that it is so incredibly loud. I mean crazy loud. Like Shamikka said, it blows you away because you're not expecting it.
