I need help ><

First of all, I want to say that I don't know where this is supposed to go, so I chose General Mod Talk, because I can't find one that specifically deals with helping new modders. I thought I've seen one before, but idk...

Now to the problem. I'm new to modding, and I want to add a readme to my file. I can't seem to get it so that when you download my file, you also get the readme.

If that makes sense, and if anyone would be kind enough to help, or kind enough to even tell me where I should ask this, I would be very happy! Thank you!

I don't believe I have winrar. I tried that, too, but it didn't work. I'll keep trying. My computer might just be acting up...

Search for the 7zip program, it will work with almost every packing format over there, .zip, .rar ... and .7z of course and this last is almost absolute choice over here. Better yet, it's freeware.

I use 7zip

I pack the .esp file and the readme in a .7z file. When i click on the .7z file in the 7zip manager or My Documents, it opens and has both the .esp and the readme in it. But when I upload it to TESNexus and then download it, it only has the.esp. Should I use .rar or .zip instead of .7z? Or what...?

Take it easy, dude. First off clean your desktop and remove older versions so you make sure you're uploading the latest one  create a folder, place the .esp and the readme.txt inside, compress the whole folder, then upload that .7z file. It will contain the readme.

Yeah, I've been doing that. Idk, maybe I'm compressing it wrong. And I can't clean the desktop because this is a shared computer. Besides, I only have one version of my mod...

If anyone wants to give me a crash course on compressing files using the 7zip manager, I'll thank you specifically in my mod. I'm going to thank everyone that's helped me so far, too, but not specifically...
