NIFTools for 3ds max 2010?

Title is pretty self-explanatory. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are plans to implement NIFTools into 3ds max 2010? Or perhaps there's some workaround to get NIFTools to work with 2010? Or perhaps a workaround people have been commonly using to get their work into FO3 in some other way?

hehe, funnily enough, I was hunting a solution down tonight, as 2010 is a bloody good upgrade to the program. Unfortunately, nothings been released yet, so Ive had to dust off 2009 and crack on with that :(

If you find anything, let us know!

I think there is some support for 2010, I could be wrong, have you checked the dev forum for the latest test version? reme, ber to report back on issues and findings, sometimes it is the only way they'll know, and improve our tools.

I'd love to start on the new features of 2010. can probably do without polyboost on it...

But it is still neccesary for me to keep hold of the civ4 plugin, so max 8 it stays for scene setup and export. in case of particle/ morphs and some other animations are needed. and with everything in Fallout having animations, I'll need it more than with oblivion. though i'm not sure how to convert my particles or get my morphs into F3 yet.

speedy! how the hell can you stick with 7, you need render to texture for normal maps!

CB is great for bitmap to normal conversion. good results. I only use it for bumping details I have added in photoshop, post baking my textures. Unless the object was a just a basic flat wall texture, even then I may still bake a normal from a high poly. you can create some complex walls- which would be a nightmare to do without baking a normal/texture map, and wouldn't have the same pop to it. Oh and even if that wall started from a diffuse map, I could reverse those guide lines into a high poly, then bake a normal map to match it. Pretty closely.

max9 for life. Max2009 was garbage, and 2010 had some nifty stuff, but Max9 had everything you want, and was super fast, efficient, and basic.

Grab Max9 today! Niftools supported, and endorsed by the Skree000 foundation!

I didn't even realize that there was a dev forum for NIFTools (then again, I didn't look very hard). I found them and after a bit of searching, discovered that there are several new prerelease versions. They are located here:

http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/view...f=20&t=2205

I am in the process of trying them out now, so I'll post back when I come up with something more.

Thanks for all the replies in the span of less than 24 hours! BTW: I don't think I'll ever back up from Max 2010. The integration of PolyBoost is spot on.

EDIT: Works like a charm so far. I've read there have been some issues exporting sequences, but that's beyond my project scope right now so I don't know for sure.
