Israel had no intention of being civil. If they did then they would have been willing to deal with Arafat and Fatah. Who eventually came around to accepting the 242 resolution. Since negotiations of any border chnage and withdrawing from occupied lands doesn't seem to work with Israel, they basically haven't moved an inch on 242 for the past 3 decades even when it was viable. It's all but meaningless to negotiate with them. Hence Hamas. The impression I get from Palestinians I know, is post Arafat there isn't any point with negotiations. Talking doesn't work. Basically they were fed up with being occupied by Israel. "They bring these troubles down on themselves" is a bit naive and ignorant of the history of the situation. But if it makes you feel better if all a sudden a bunch of islamic fundies took over the impotent Palestinian government over night and started shooting rockets because they hate jews. Go for it.

Referendum yes, election no. It basically works the oposite in an election. No, it's exactly the same in an election, if you don't vote then they're not going to bother with you. Voting for someone else to make descisions for you does not resemble a referendum. Depends on the game, complexity of the scene, complexity of the shader, what kind of LOD technology you have available, how the engine handles instancing and batching, and last but not least how much overdraw is going on and how much that slows down the per frame render time. Hard to say numbers.. 1-2k tris can be acceptable on fps games even on last gen consoles like the 360. Assuming the platform is PC and you are making some LODs 3ktris probably won't hurt all that much. One level I worked on in CE2 had like 10k trees on the map plus weather affects. And reworking the LODs for the trees cut per frame rendertime to a third. Of course the level designers on that map were the devil and needed to be slapped for their gluttonous use of these assets in the first place... wide open vistas in snowy mountains with pine forests everywhere.. like more than one forest. Best thing to do is make a test, hopefully if you have access to other diag tools in the engine besides fps counters or actually finding the bottlenecks are hard, keep dumping trees down and observe the per frame render time and how much that increases. Might be best to run the test on something less than a 780 titan to gauge performance on :tongue:

then why won't a controller work on PC version? many things will change within the first year like all MMOs and I'm betting on the game getting changes because i want a PVP server. Why are you asking why wont a controller work on the PC version? You should be asking why won't they target keyboard and mouse input on the console version...

And none of that has anything to do with them targeting controllers as the primary interface. WoW is irrelevant to the discussion as it isn't for consoles. The game you should bring up is FF XIV as it does mmo on a console. Maybe if the PC players are the cash cows and the console games aren't eating it up things will change. Until then it's going to be focused on the console and that means he interface needs to be ergonomic on a controller.

yeah pretty much. Too early to say about the F2P, I think the reception by the console crowd be the decider. I agree the other offerings on the PC are daunting for the game. But it isn't a PC mmo imo. The whole game is very much designed for consoles. There is a reason you don't need a razor naga to play ESO... If the console crowd lap it up, they will sustain it for at least a couple years on the current model.

Yeah wayshrines are free and are all over the place, the only fast travel you had to pay for were the 2 dungeons that opened up after you beat the spider daedra dungeon. One of the dumbest thing is the non instanced loot. You go through a dungeon and it's first come first served to the chests and heavy sacks. The starter dungeon was retarded when I did it because it was flooded with 50 other players and every container, of which there were a lot in certain rooms, were already looted. I played around yesterday on a different faction and the starter dungeon had hardly anyone in it due to beta ending soon and I came out of it with 25 lockpicks and 800gold worth of random stuff. so if you want loot be the tank so you are first to the chests, healers and sorcerers at the back get no chests unless they want to wait 5mins for it to respawn. Indeed. It's barely luke warm. Not entirely sure why that is. I think the game itself is as good as other offerings in the genre that had a mega hype train behind them.

I kinda like it for some reason. I agree with Jim in that it is basically a slightly lower standard skyrim with a moderately ok mmo on top with a lot of bugged quests. It does feel, sound, and look like a TES game though. I do like that it is in the 2nd era. I like I have been to shivering isles and met sheorgorath again, walked through daggerfall, mannimarco is up to tricks, but it's really just a single player game for me so far, I haven't partied with anyone and just solo'd everything pretty much. But it feels very generic in every aspect. The console crowd might lap this up and keep it afloat, I have doubts about the PC market as they tend to be a bit more discerning in this genre, I'm 50/50 about the PC market. I can guarantee it'll stay subs longer than TOR if anything just on the fact it's going to hit all 3 major platforms so don't expect f2p soon. Also argonians look like crap. It's ok but not great.

If i were ever planning on actually paying 60$ and then 15$ subscriptions on top for an MMO.. that would be cool.
