Daedric Sword - Remove Belt Tab

That is the (sorry excuse for a) scabbard.

To remove it:

Open the Creation Kit

Locate the Armor Addon forms for the weapon in question

Make a note of the assigned NIF files in the Bipedal Model entries for both male and female

Exit Creation kit

Use BSAopt or similar program to extract files from the Skyrim - Meshes.bsa (or DLC bsa file if from a DLC)

Obtain the NIF files noted earlier. Be sure to get both the _1 and _0 versions

If necessary, create the correct directory structure in your Data folder and move (or copy) the NIF files

Open the NIF files with NifSkope

Expand the entries in the Block List

Highlight each NiTriShape till you find the one that is the scabbard (it might have a text label that could give indication)

When you found the correct NiTriShape, make sure it is highlighted and press CTRL+DEL (removes the entire branch)

Save the NIF file, overwriting the copy you put in the Data folder.

Test in game after dealing with each file.

@chevyowner

Those are the steps I used to remove the scabbard from the Dawnbreaker because its attaching bar kept clipping out my female character's backside. Worked just fine.

If you have a better workflow, please post it.

When I saw this a while ago I though about posting instructions, but I am terrible at writing instructions.

Also the instructions post above might be really useful for modifying armor, but not so much for weapons.

As I am bad at writing instructions, you can try this. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_images/underground/attachicon.gifdaedric.zip

Thanks, works like a charm. I'm actually kinda helpless when it comes to the Creation Kit  Also saved the instructions for later (asking for every weapon would be rude)

I'll try, but as I said I am terrible an writing instructions. So I will just edit the ones from before as needed.

To remove it:

Open the Creation Kit

Locate the Weapon forms for the weapon in question

Make a note of the assigned NIF file

Exit Creation kit

Use BSAopt or similar program to extract files from the Skyrim - Meshes.bsa (or DLC bsa file if from a DLC)

Obtain the NIF files noted earlier. Be sure to get NIF from before, and the 1stperson version as well.

If necessary, create the correct directory structure in your Data folder and move (or copy) the NIF files

Open the NIF files with NifSkope

Expand the entries in the Block List

Highlight each NiTriShape till you find the one that is the scabbard (it might have a text label that could give indication)(I just click on the piece I want to remove in the render window to select it)

When you found the correct NiTriShape, make sure it is highlighted and press CTRL+DEL (removes the entire branch)

Save the NIF file, overwriting the copy you put in the Data folder.

Test in game after dealing with each file.

Almost the same but it is a little bit different for weapon models.

It is a good idea to adapt instructions each time someone ask, because too many people will not look anywhere or for anything else other the exactly what the instructions said.

Alright. I see it now.

I stated to look for the Armor Addon as opposed to Weapon.

Lame excuse: I had armor on the brain from recent mod work.

You could have simply pointed out my mistake. -- Subtle hints for some reason do not work for me.

Something like: "Hey, Ishara! You said Armor Addon form instead of Weapon form. Could you correct the instructions?"

I would have been more than happy to correct myself.

Anyway, it has been discovered and corrected. Water under the bridge and all that...
