Malchik
They can change into any animal including fish, birds and insects. However they are vulnerable in such forms to predators of course. An ant may not be a good move in a crowded street. In animal form they cannot communicate with others in the party nor can they communicate with other animals. Useful skill to reach buttons and levers etc or to get aerial views.
Evaeril
Well guys, my old gang joined up so I'm game. Lets do this. MEET: Ara LotheaRace: Bashkeri WitchClass: Light Fighter/TrackerSex: FemaleAge: 21Animal: "Aena" the snow owl From day one, Ara had had a hard life. Her mother died in childbirth and Ara was saved only through the restorative magic of the witch doctor who delivered her. She grew up in the Baskkerian town of Evale. It didn't take long for the inhabitants of the town to realize that she was different. The first thing that people noticed and commented on was her white hair. Said to have come from the witch's intervention in her birth, it was white the moment it grew on top of her head as an infant. Her eyes were crystal blue and looked like small snowflakes on a pane of glass. Her physical appearance caused those around her to label her as "The Snow Queen." This unfortunately was not a compliment. She was tormented in school and as a result, confided only in her overworked father who struggled to support them. As her father was relying on her mother for financial support, it was quite a hit to the family when she died. Ara's mother was a witch and was an excellent scout. She was paid handsomly by the town's garrison for the work she did. As Bashkeri was a peaceful nation, the garrison was only there to defend against the nomad attacks of the plains that lay on the edge of town. When Ara's mother passed away, her father fell into depression and debt. He had only Ara to talk to and he did everyday. Some days she wondered if he thought that he was speaking to her mother through her. She never asked. The most important aspect of Ara's mother was that she had a strong affinty to one animal. A snow owl. As the owl was not killed in childbirth, it chose its next master. This being Ara herself. The owl, who Ara's mother affectionetly named Aena, acted as Ara's guardian when her father was gone. It had lived an exceptionally long life and showed no signs of weakness or age. Some said that when Ara's mother died, her soul was transferred into Aena forever. As long as her mother permitted the owl to live, it would live. As Ara grew up with the owl she became close friends with it. So close in fact, that she seemed to be able to intepret the animal's very thought. She only needed to think an action and the bird would fly off and peform admirally. Her companionship with the owl helped her little in school. It only earned her more taunts. However, toughened by the loss of her mother at an early age, Ara was just about immune to their insults. After the graduation from her school, Ara had no where to go. She could not afford to start a business, and she could not afford to attempt higher education. Her father had gone into debt to help her through school and was all but bankrupt. She began to wish of fame and fortune. Aena would support the family by bringing a pheasant or mouse to the table once a night and her father would try to pay the bills. In order to help, Ara took a job as an apprentice to an old shopkeeper. However, a time soon came when the shopkeeper couldn't pay her for her work anymore. He offered something else to Ara however and she jumped at the idea. This was schooling in the art of the katana. He taught her the different Katas and different stances. She learned how to fight and how to defend herself. After a year of training, she felt she was ready to take mercenary scouting jobs for the garrison troops in Evale. She was literally walking in her mother's footsteps. It annoyed her to be unable to attack anything unless defending herself and she often wished that she was scouting for another nation that wasn't as...docile. She found that coupled with Aena, she could not fail in her assigned tasks. She used the money she made to buy weapons and armor that were specially crafted in snow white. However, the year of training had cost her father the extra money she had been making. He was living off the land and eating only when he had too. Ara realized that he was starving to death. She decided that she had to leave. Her father could not afford to support her. Taking her belongings and using mercenary money to travel, she left her father to look for fame and fortune. [OOC: Malchik can you be more specific in spells that a Bashkeri would know? Or are they only proficient in making others fall asleep? Also would it be to much to ask to be placed into the group with my old team? I throughly enjoyed their company.]
tiaxanderson
If it's ok I would like to join to, seems like fun. Name: Tiax AndersonOccupation: Time MageLand: TagfieranRace: HumanGender: MaleAge: 32*Eyes: BlueHair: BlondFavorite color: Blue(*Just for the ones who care.. I'm 17) Background: He grew up as a nomad's son so he has limited horsemanship skill. Because of all the traveling his magic skills were long supressed by his parent's. But when he was 13 he got lost and was left behind as the nomads moved on. A wizzard found the boy and saw his potential. Even though the wizzard cared for his pupil and the power that he beholds Tiax had no easy life from here. He needed to earn his food and tutoring. Tiax is a thoughtfull wizzard who probally thinks to much about the consequentions of his actions. He will make sure anyone will end his "story" when it was supposed to. After his tutor died he bought a home in the mountains and lived most of the rest of his life alone and is considerd a loner, but also a relyable person hwo will do what is best. His magic is rumord to be very powerfull yet he seems unwilling to use such strenght. Tiax's share in this is because he thinks this should not have happend. To many "storys" end to soon and this affects the temporal spectrums to much. It HAS to be stopped. P.S. Will something like a familiar, a small pet-like creature with limited magical abillities and increased intelligence who helps a wizzard with his or her tasks in life, be possible? If so,Familiar: Arie, the lesser time dragon. (Arie is about 2 feet tall and 1,5 feet long her eyes are green and her skinn is a mixture of blue and green. She can shift trough time on her own and has wings. Her claws do very little damage but after multiple hits there's a very small chance the target gets lost in time. She's the familliar of Tiax Anderson.) (premmission to adjust Arie her powers if you think she's to powerfull)

ThetaOrionis01
Kyrika Nyobian female, aged 17 Waif-like, long, straggly black hair, large grey eyes Occupation: none so far Skills: Very good at stealth, picking locks, forging documents. Good memory. Beginner's skill in throwing knives. Shapeshifting. Kyrika was born into a wealthy merchant family, the youngest of six daughters. Her parents died - under circumstances which were never fully explained to her - when Kyrika was 10. As custom demanded, her eldest sister Sabayi became her guardian, and Kyrika was sent to live with her and her husband in his family's large estate just outside the provincial capital. Sabayi - who had ever since her marriage into this powerful family been made to feel their social inferior - was deeply ashamed of the unkempt waif custom had obliged her to look after. Not a day went past that she didn't vent her resentment, be it by inflicting social humiliations upon her little sister or by chiding her and directing spiteful remarks at her. It was her youth in this household that shaped Kyrika - she learned to fade into the background, to go unnoticed, to move around stealthily, to sneak and listen to conversations she was not meant to her. The things she learned in those conversations fuelled her curiosity, and she became adept at picking locks with her hairpins, at memorising documents she found in her brother-in-law's office, at forging signatures. During her early years in Sabayi's house the lonely Kyrika had found little companionship other than that of the household animals, and had developed a sense of animal empathy. During the turmoil of puberty, Kyrika discovered that her empathy was so strong that, if she concentrated very hard, she could not only empathise with those animals that had become her companions but even adopt their form. She enjoyed the power she thought this gave her - being able to conceal herself so completely from others. As Sabayi's hostility towards her little sister increased - Sabayi was all to well aware of the glances the younger woman attracted from her husband - Kyrika became more and more reckless. She began listening in to her brother-in-law's councils - it seemed he was an important functionary in the provincial administration - learning much that disturbed her. She started stealing items of value - no longer to irritate and spite her sister, but to gather together some money so as not to be dependent on her sister's charity for too much longer. A chance conversation she overheard convinced Kyrika that she should leave this house that had never been her home."She is always watching me, I know it," Sabayi had sobbed to her husband. "Like a crow, a bird of ill omen, she watches me and wishes me ill. And she means the children ill, too. She must go, I cannot bear to have her in the house. She is like our grandmother, the witch - she could turn herself into a crow and curse people. Send her away, I don't care where."And then her brother-in-law's voice, which had chilled Kyrika. "There is shapeshifting blood in your family? I never knew... Yes... Yes, I think I know where to send Kyrika. Leave it to me." Kyrika had listened no longer, but fled to gather her things. A last foray into the office had furnished her with a pouch of gold, and a blank travel permit that she hoped would suffice to get her far enough away. Where to, she had no idea. It was the last Kyrika would see of her sister and brother-in-law. In the days that followed her ability to conceal herself had saved her more than once from those she suspected had been sent out to bring her back. The permit, and a sad story she had made up to go with it (some people were so easy to fool if a waif looked at them with large sad eyes!), had bought her passage on a boat, but even many leagues downriver she couldn't feel safe - her brother-in-law's arm was long, it seemed. When she had overheard some travellers speak of a different land she had known that she had no choice but to leave Nyobi, and begin a new life elsewhere. Her skill at forging documents had sufficed to get her across the border, but the stolen gold was running out rapidly, and Kyrika never wanted to depend on another's charity again. And this new country... it was so different from Nyobi. Her ability to hide no longer felt enough to keep her safe. With the last of her gold, she bought herself a knife, and passage on a trader's caravan to a place called Papred. What she was going to do when she got there she didn't know. Baba-John
Name-Baba Bethram From-Lampur- BashkherAge- 48Occupation-Shaman/Tracker ( (NWN Ranger)GMT Evenings 17h00-21h00 It was night when Baba arrived at the camp.As Baba moved into the light, one could see the occasional glint of a chain mail vest shimmering beneath his white fur cloak. Few realized that what they were seeing, was a relict from days long past, or was it days yet to come. It was made from unobtainium, a rare metal found only in T'mor'dend. How it had come to be in Baba’s possession no one knew. Baba was not big on words. He relished the solitude of the wastelands. He generally found the company of people, tedious. Baba growled, “Come brother and sit with me.” At which the pure white snow wolf appeared and came to him and then sat down at his side. Got anything for us to eat? It’s been a while since we had any cooked food. We traveled day and night to get here from Tagfier. Heard you were looking for honorable help. Baba took out a long pipe and reaching into the fire pit, retrieved a brand with which he lit it. Yes...................................... Long trip.......................................
Malchik
Mr Anderson you need to adjust the familiar. There are no dragons in the game I'm afraid. If you want a familiar it will have to be a real creature but with the amount of travelling you'll be doing around Bashkher they'd be spending a lot of time in a box which is cruel! Also for game play purposes please indicate which time zone you are in. This is not the RP thread guys. Just the posting of character and interest. You won't be arriving at a camp. Haven't finally decided where yet as I'm waiting to see if anyone else is joining but it will probably be in the offices of the Security Adviser of Papred capital of Bashkher. There will be a new start thread when it's ready to go. It will be a day or two yet.
tiaxanderson
Although, with it's size, you could hardly call it a dragon.. And it's more of a flying reptile, it's just called a dragon, perhaps it could stay home.. But with it's capabillity of flying and to "leave" time for an extended period of time, I don't think travveling would be a problem. Actually I was more worried about her claws  ... Anyways it's the game of you people so ultimatly it's your call. Time zone: Europe - Netherlands - GTM +1 P.S. If someone is worried about the "past" meeting with Mordred K.. He contacted me and it fine. I hope the RP will be a success
Malchik
There are game reasons why no dragons actually even little ones. We seem to have plenty of thieves and magic users signing up. How about some fighters, trackers and negotiators?
tiaxanderson
Well if I must I'm sure Arie won't mind going to another temporal plane.... She can take care of herself :P . And I agree that, for a land wich has practicly no magic users, a lot of 'm found their way here..
