VixenRouge
I've been looking for such a mod but didn't find so I wrote down quest scenarios to give the chance to go for an alternative DB quest end. This means the following text is full of SPOIL so if you haven't finished the DB quest, don't read. The idea is to lessen the number of the dead, including the Cheydinghal sanctuary members, Lucien and some other members. Mod making needs • Quest scripting• Nightmare scripting (when the PC activates a bed to sleep he should be awoken by a foe, defeat it and awake for true)• Voice acting for every DB character• Cinematic ingame scene scripting More details (not required to read) I thought things should begin with the Cheydinhal sanctuary purification. The player would have some doubts and cheat on Lucien to make him believe the sanctuary members were killed. While Lucien is fooled the Mother Night isn't but stays neutral. The missions should then go on until the Draconis family mission is fulfilled and then, you get a to-kill list. The player is surprised of how much information there is, it's quite unusual. You still have to kill at least one Speaker but this will give you a nightmare that makes you want to visit the deceased's home.Once the Black Hand robe is found you can show it to Lucien and get a reaction. Then it's sorta team-work to find the traitor's identity and prove your innocence. Enhancing the projectNow, like most people, I really enjoyed the DB quests but regreted to not be able to visit the other sanctuaries. I know there's mod that did this but I'd mostly like to add new funny DB quests with twisted ways to kill people, simple slaughter missions and Cammona Tong-related missions. Some of these missions could be proposed by other Sanctuaries high-ranked members like "since you're here, btw, could you..."This could eventually be a way to get to know some of the other Silencers and Speakers better before having to kill some of them. Another great thing would be to update the DB armor so when you wear it Imperial guards attack you at sight like they should do. And some of your victims as well once the quest is started. I have ideas about what the quests programs should look like but have no scripting abilities, help on this would be awesome. If you think this is doable don't hesitate to give feedback and/or volunteer if you have ideas of how to realize this.If you think it's not doable don't hesitate to give ideas about how to make it doable. And if you have questions, advice or whatever, go on. kieranfoy
First, the bad stuff. It's extremely bold and ambitious, and will take a great deal of effort and time from several modders. The new sanctuarys, especially, sounds too big. On the good side, it sounds awesome, logical, and something I'd kill to play.
VixenRouge
Yeah, I know it's ambitious... But if we cut this all step by step and have good organization I think it's doable. I think I can write down quests like "go speak to NPC1 about TOPIC, if TOPIC = 0 then, speaking about TOPIC sets Variable1 = 1. If NPC2 is dead and Variable1 = 1 then set TOPIC = 1. go speak to NPC1 about TOPIC, if TOPIC = 1 then receive 100G + Item"...With more details regarding what each term means of course. I understand script logic, I'm just unable for some strange reason to write propper scripts, it just always turn to some bloody mess... Else I guess a hard part would be making ingame cinematics and playable nightmare. I think this last one would be doable if the player is asked to spend the night in a particuliar place (I don't know if it's possible neither a good idea to alter all the beds of the world). From there the beds can be altered by a quest variable to induce an event such as when you sleep in the Benirus mansion for the first time or for that quest when you go in the nightmare. I think a solution would be to make the bed teleport the character to an identical room where he is attacked by a monster and when the monster's health = 0 the player is teleported back to the real room. Regarding how ingame cinematics are made I really have no knowledge, I don't even know where they're stored. But in the worst case maybe it's possible to do without. What do you consider especially big for the sanctuaries?
DagonTheranis
the first one is really quite big, I'd say not much bigger than that, but all in one room.
Slawter500
It certainly won't be a walk in the parl, but it isn't the largest of projects. It's certainly doable. Also DB armour bounty mod. I would suggest you use the other sanctuary mods, but then again, where's the fun in that? Making interiors is actually rather fun, and I may pull myself out of lazyland to help you make a sanctuary(might). Anyway unless your deadset on creating your own interiors you could use other ones as a base, and then add/modify what you want.
VixenRouge
@Slawter500: Kudos for the link, I had been sooo looking for such a mod! I've gotta try it out^^And yep, I think it's a medium ambitious project, it's far simpler than that childhood project Else I have tried some level building in the TESCS time ago but... is there a snap tool or snap hotkey? I can't believe there's not, it's really time consuming to place the assets correctly without. If I can get aware of such a feature I should be able to compose some interiors =]I don't think I'll create new meshes though, I think there should be enough...The only thing I could add would eventually be statues, I like to model that but it's far to be important for now. Slawter500
Snap to grid? Only a click away. I'll post a screenshot in a moment. Also as for new meshes, I'd say this could be done fine without them, And thanks for the Kudos.
L33Nexus
are you going to release this as a mod :D i've made a dagger based on the night mother and have no use for it (it is animated) i could get it ready for the construction set and let you do as you wish with it :D (just give me Kudos and Credit in the mod XD sorry for asking so boldly)
Slawter500
Snap to grid screeny. If that's what you meant by snap tool then there ya go.
