Morgoth
OOC> It's not really me who's ignored your conversation, titanania, but Chucahau. He hasn't paid much attention to his surroundings while he's been searching his bag, and I hope I have made it obvious that as far as the members of our group are concerned, he is completely fixed on Kyrika - and it's not like you have to obey his misjudgements ;)
Malchik
What can be seen from behind is a group of skeletal figures leading a ghost. The skeletal figures appear to be mindless grunts waving various weapons around. The ghost is of a woman and does not give the appearance of being threatening. What you can see from the front are two attacking skeletons. (There are in fact 6) Chucahua hears in his head comments seeming to be from the ghost to the skeletons. "Stop attacking you fools. I want to talk to them, not kill them. Use your brains! As if you damned idiots ever had any brains! You'll get them attacking me next. Stop, you mobile xylophones, stop at once." The skeletons ignore the command. Kane can see they are armed only with blunt weapons of a kind he has not seen before. They attack as a pair as the next two round the corner. DragonDudeAW
Realizing quickly that the battle is groing to start without him, Aldhelm quickly repacks his equipment into his satchel before loading it once again upon his back. Snatching up his Fire Focus Staff from the ground. As he begins speaking incantations he hears Kane, "I maybe large but I am also quick lad...just give a few more minutes, I'll charge leaving the rest of you to either follow or stay but you my friend will need to light up the area...I'm good and I've trained against multiple enemies in the dark before...but that is when I know what I'm up against...this time I'm in the unknown but whatever they are...I doubt they will be standing after I've finished with them" Glad to know he can trust the titanic warrior, Aldhelm resumes his incantations until his gem is ready to be called upon. About that time, Kane realeases a bloodcurdling scream and charges towards the sounds. Aldhelm quickly follows him. As he rounds the corner, the site that meets his eyes makes him gasp. As a child he had seen Thereon animate small animals skeletons to deter the attacks on them from the deert creatures, who were wary of wht the detected as cursed. However, Aldhelm knew how draining this process was and seeing the six skeletons in front of him was mind-numbing, the power that these creations entailed.... Realizing quickly that these skeletons were not going to be as enthralled with him as he was with them, Aldhelm quickly reacted. Aldhelm began with casting an Inferno spell over the skeletons and a strange, pale figure. He hopes the illumination might help the situation. As the light erupts overhead, he realizes quickly the two skeletal warriors he can see are about to attack Kane. He yells, "Look out, comrade! They are attacking!" He then turns towards the skeletons standing further back from the two attackers and hurls another Inferno towards them. As he turns to throw another Inferno, he notices that only the skeletons are attacking or even looking threatening. So instead of throwing an Inferno at the pale figure, he hurls a Inferno at the remaining pair of skeletal figures before pausing to see if his spells had their desired effects. Malchik
OOC> I assumed you understood that you could detect life or I would not have said there were six skeletons. However if it was not clear that is what was intended.
ThetaOrionis01
Kyrika takes a step back, keeping an anxious eye on the door. She doesn't want to get trapped in this room, yet understands that she would only get in the fighters' way were she to leave it. Unable to see what is going on the noises she can hear make her shiver. 'What have we let ourselves in for?' she asks herself. 'I never expected there to be a fight, other than perhaps against wild animals, or maybe robbers... but what are these creatures?' She can only wait for whatever is going to happen next. Morgoth
OOC> Before Chucahau reacts: Did he find his colours when he searched for them earlier on, or was he really unsuccessful in his hectic rummaging through his bag?

ixnos
OOC: I don't think anyone could "detect life" Mal, although I could play it out that due to Aldhelm lighting up the area we can see there are six ;) Kane rushes the two attacking skeletons as the room is lit up by the infernos that Aldhelm is flinging around, the blunt weapons not really becoming a problem as such yet not ignored due to with enough power they could break bone on contact, yet as the attacking skeletons find out, with a 6ft 2" broad muscular warrior charging, there is no way to even get that sort of power into a blunt weapon in the amount of time they need, just as quick as Kane charges the minions are taken out, although Kane's sword is quite ineffective due to the fact he is fighting bones and not flesh, yet getting the sword tangled in the right places caused the collapse of the form and collapses the approaching danger...now with four left yet not in a position to be threatening, Kane halts in a skid as he comes face to face with a transparent figure, the tip of his blade penetrating the figure yet having no effect...Kane takes a step back "I've had my fair share of fighting but I don't remember this being taught at Merc school...Aldhelm...Cuch...one of you...this is your area...great and this is why I usually don't run into the unknown...GAH!" Although the ghost isn't speaking to Kane, it doesn't show itself as a threatening enemy but doesn't have any reasons to become an ally either...he keeps an eye on the illuminated skeletons which seem to not be following orders since the ghost has stopped infront of Kane yet the skeletons continue to march with blunt weapons, Kane grumbles, taking a few more steps back, making sure all four skeletons are infront of him and not at the side or behind him...since there was no answer from the others he decides to make contact with the transparent thing infront of him "Are you friendly? we mean no harm but we have come prepared defensively...we are not here to harm or hurt you but to help and figure out what is happening...my god I'm talking to casper...I think I've gone insane"
Malchik
OOC> Interesting that most 'detect life' spells in RPG games actually detect things without life too. But I think it is feasible for a mage to be able to sense 6 'essences'. And the initial assumption, taken with the sounds you hear, would be 6 skeletons as soon as you saw the first two. The 'ghost' is not sensed but seen. As for fighting, guys you have to wait for me to tell you how successful you are. These six skeletons are made of diamond reinforced titanium with 100% reflect magic and reflect damage! I'm kidding but you don't know what tricks they may have up their metaphorical sleeves! Kane charges in attacking the two leading skeletons Aldhelm uses inferno spells is all you can say. And suppose you triggered a trap? However.... Kane fells the two leading skeletons but it is not so easy. They are very tough and seem crazed with the need to kill. One of the other skeletons lets fly a poisoned throwing knife. It catches Kane only a glancing blow but he feels one arm go dead unable to hold a weapon. The ghostly apparition hisses "Kill them quickly. They lived too long ago to understand." One of the inferno spells hits a skeleton of the second pair and disintegrates it. The ghostly figure has however moved up to be between Kane and Aldheim and the rear two skeletons. To avoid damaging the ghost (if it can be damaged) you will need to deal with two skeletons from behind. It is apparent that the 'ghost' thought it could control these mindless beings and got it wrong.
WereWolf531
OOC: Wow, quite ironic that as soon as I ask whether or not anyone is reading this a torrent of posts comes in response. And btw Titanania, I did not mean to imply that college credit isn't important, I'm taking two AP tests myself this week. I'm just saying that you should be able to take 15-30 mins out of your study schedule for some stress relief, and this is a very good method of doing so (at least in my opinion). Anyway... Moving out from behind Kane (if that is possible, I may be misunderstanding their current location in regards to the "only one at a time" rule), Khyros begins to move towards the last remaining skeletons, then notices that the ghost has moved between them. "Why would it be between them?" he thinks, "it wants us to kill them...or...well, do SOMETHING to stop them from moving, but then why would it go between us? Unless...perhaps it can't be harmed by any of our means? Or maybe it is capable of avoiding us when we attack the skeletons? Regardless, 'she' wouldn't have moved there unless she thought it was safe, so here goes..." Finally deciding to attack, Khyros steps towards the two remaining skeletons, trident at the ready. He didn't know much about combat, but he knew enough to think to use the reach of his trident to his advantage, and thrust it forward at the skeletons.
