Back in her human shape Kyrika cautiously approaches the smiling boy.

"Hello," she calls out softly, unsure as to how to address him. Is this perhaps this Daro Constanta mentioned? Has Bharat sent another group to investigate the temples? She smiles and looks at the boy, waiting for a reply.

Aldhelm follows Kane without speaking, still pondering Bren's word. As he follow Kane out, he makes sure to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Just because Bren was not trying to harm them doesn't mean someone else would not...

OOC> Kyrika, you were on the top level. When you go back to the middle level to find the boy all you see are the others coming up from the ossuary. You can however still call out 'Hello', trying to work out where he has gone.

On topic: At Kyrika's words it as if the silence has become tense. You sense there IS someone there but whoever it is does not know whether to reveal themselves to you or not.

Something more needs to be said - perhaps a reassurance that you mean no harm?

As he climbs back up with Kane, Aldhelm senses something. It was as if someone was there in the room with them, yet being perfectly still.

Kyrika climbing back down and sayign " Hello? " not to them but simply around the room only confirms his suspicions.

Remembering something Bren had said earlier he decides to call out. " Daro? Are you here somewhere? You have nothing to fear from us. We are simply trying to get to the bottom of what has happened to Ruhir. Please show yourself if you wish, we simply wish to ask a few questions. "

"Is that so?" The voice comes out of nowhere. "Please open your packs and let me look inside. I won't take anything. It's just that I am sick of fools who come to trap ghosts. As if I were a ghost! If you don't have any of that crackpot equipment in them I will talk to you."

Then to Kyrika, who hears the voice next to her ear, "Good trick with the bat thing! We don't get too many women here. It's the men who want to trap me. Women try to reach me through the 'ether' from the temple above. Maybe they aren't scared of spirits but I think they are afraid of the dark. Boo!"

Whatever this boy maybe, he at least has a sense of humour. And he is the first person you have heard speak in a temple who sounds cheerful.

Even as he unstraps his pack, Aldhelm realizes his err. " Kind Daro, if that is who you are, please feel free to put my pack somewhere I cannot access it while we speak if you wish. If you are scared of ghost catchers, my enchanting equipment is only for my studies, my people have long forgotten the advanced ways to traps still active souls or spirits the spirit must be taken at the moment of death. Therefore, you are not at risk, however, I understand if you are wary and wish to take these items for the duration of our talk. "

OOC> I'm getting my wisdom teeth out today, so I won't be posting for at least 2 days.

Kane grunts as he listens to Daro but then smirks unclipping several pouches, then uncaringly throws them to where the voice is coming from, as the first pouch hits the floor a couple of gold coins roll and fall flat upon the ground, then the second pouch hits with a clank as two talismans also fall out.

"Look as much as you want, I am a warrior not a trapper...if anythin I would be the one scoutin the place out and hackin down any human competition...not trappin ghosts...as for the others, again look as much as you want but you won't find anythin other than Aldhelm's enchanting and alchemy equipment and most of all...do we look like the fools you are describing?"

He decides not to remove his weapons, after all he has mentioned he is a warrior and even he knows his weapons can't damage ghosts unless they are enchanted, he folds his arms and and speaks again.

"And anyways, we have asked about Ruhir, if we wanted to trap you, why would we ask about Ruhir first? You know something that we need to know and it would help us greatly...how? well one it will get us out of here and leave you in peace and two it would allow us to continue our journey...so...Daro either continue with your inspection or give us the information we need"

After a moment a youth of about 17 appears in front of you. He is wary but not afraid.

"I have a very good reason to take care with you. You asked about Ruhir. I am Ruhir! Or to be more exact I became Ruhir. I will try to explain."

He sits cross-legged on the floor and beckons you to do the same.

"I was the youngest of five brothers - an unexpected afterthought. They always treated me well but they were very close-knit and I was almost an outsider. To cut a very long story short I was let into their little secret only when they felt they had to use me. They were searching for a way to become immortal. They had each of them merged their bodies with the essences of very powerful mages to enable them to live for a long time to help in their research. But it turned out these mages were also brothers and five in number. My siblings told me I was to merge with the fifth mage. I refused. So they tied me up and forced me into the ritual."

He sighs.

"I was angry for a while but too much time has passed to stay angry. In the merging each took a new name and mine was to be Ruhir. Something went wrong. Ruhir was created. I can recall seeing him walking away. But I should have become him. Instead a thread of my life essence remained within my body. My brothers couldn't understand it. There should have been nothing left behind - but there was my apparently lifeless corpse lying on the floor in the ropes with which they had bound me."

He looks at each of you in turn.

"They took off the bonds are were wondering how to dispose of me. Then my mother arrived. They persuaded her I had died in a fit and so I was buried here. And here I have been ever since. Something of the mage must be within me too or time would have taken its toll. So you see I am not a ghost or a spirit. In truth I don't know quite what I am myself!"

He looks at you waiting for the inevitable questions.

Kane continues to remain standing but does take the opportunity to lean against a wall, he listens carefully and smirks but notices that the others remain quiet, he clears his throat and ponders.

"In other words because you refused some of you stayed...which is what sits infront of us...and the rest is this...Ruhir that is causing all this and such...correct? sounds like your brothers didn't know exactly what they were doing or dealing with though the question Why comes to mind...as in why would anyone want immortality in the first place? don't get me wrong the idea is quite nice but for me, I prefer a challenge and die when I am beaten, not to mention it would get very boring and lonely...anyways

He notices that he is rambling and stops himself to allow the others to answer questions, until then the only other questions he would have are about who to find, where to find them and that Daro or Ruhir...whoever sits infront of him can help them in any sort of way
