ThetaOrionis01
HUH? WHAT'S THAT? SPEAK UP - I CAN'T HEAR YOU! THE MUSIC'S TOO LOUD!! Hmm... I spent almost 10 years hardly listening to any music at all, lamenting the fact that there was no decent music music around anymore.... Then a song shocked me out of this state - believe in teh power of music!! So now I'm listening to music all the time, and I think I'm a lot happier for it - though I couldn't vouch that the same goes for my neighbour.... Music can definitely influence your mood - and your energy levels http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/music/musik13.gif
miltonic
A friend of mine wants to get together and cook up another little video game. We made a little demo, "Zelda style" last year. He did the art, I did the music, we both did the coding. We are looking for something to get creative about once more, and I've had a lot of different song ideas floating through my head...and we haven't even decided on a theme for the game. I'm kind of going nowhere with this post, I just think music is awesome and I always get excited when gearing up for a project. Oh yeah, everyone seems to like Chili Peppers on this board. I agree that Californication is their best album, haven't heard any newer ones of theirs if they have any. But a lot of their earlier stuff didn't float my boat. Eltiraaz
Their latest album is 'By the Way', IMO its just as good if not better than Californication, it's been released in Canada for a while, i dunno about your location though..
eldritch
I play tuba (sousaphone) in a few Traditional Jazz (Dixieland) bands. I just retired from playing with a Brass Quintet with which I had played with for 24 years (bad eyes - had trouble seeing the score). Additionally I was a member of many concert bands, including the 195th Army band. I've been playing tuba for about 50 years now. The groups I play with now play all head charts - no written music. It is really fun to do - lots of improvisations. I listen to Classical and jazz - mainly Dixieland (to steal any good licks I come across). I have no favorite bands as such. Sam Pilafian (tubist) made 2 CD's with a small group he put together and played the hell out of Traditional Jazz and swing tunes.
Zingx
1: Been playing guitar since 1980. Got 6 guitars and several amps.Needless to say, im pretty serious about it. :) I dont di it "for living", alltho ppl always asj about it, but im afraid i'd lose the Fun of playing if had to play other ppl's music like 8 hours per day, it would turn to be a job... Got my own lil studio thing happening, HD-recording with Cubase SX etc.Good thing about knowing music theory is, one can jump from Piano to Guitar pretty easily, just have to learn where the notes are. Chords and Scales are the same. ;) 2: Listening all kinda music, but if it has any wicked guitar stuff innit, it a bit "extra-special" for me ;) Not many moons ago i found this Swedish progressive-metaø band called Amdromeda (dont mix it with the other Andromeda, the electronica stuff..) Have had that cd spinning on my players a lot. Excellent music. On the other hand, im getting a bit into jazzy side lately, need to "expand" my knowledge of substitute chords etc... 3: There's too many to mention... Brian Setzer, Steve Vai, Van Halen, those are the guys i started to listen, way back in 80's.Nowadays there is just sooo many good Musicians/Players/Composers that making a list the would cover the most could take eons. Ok, heres a lil "example" of me playing and sort of "singing" too ;) DonFC A bit info of da song:Im a member on other boards aswell in here now, got to know this dude from states called Funky Capricorn (dunno his real name). He's a funny man, atleast i like to think so. Anyways, 2 other ppl made new lyrics for that well known tune from the TV-series Friends (which i think is a tad sucky series), The Rembrants: I'll be there for you.I did the rest. Had to try to sing it too, but im no singer so dont give me any poo about that, ok? :P FC can be one helluva Spammer, but he has always a funny edge innit so its rather difficult to claim his posts outright Spam. He he... go figure. Since English is not my "Mother-Tongue" and my Scandinavian accent shines though the song , here's them lyrics (Lyrics are in the mp3 lyrics Tag too, most of players should show 'em) : So no-one thought the boardwas gonna be this way... /clap clap clap clapThe amount of spam just keepsincreasing every day ! It's all the fault of FuNkY CaPrIcOrN -'Cos he needs something to do while he isDownloading his pr0n... He will spam the board,When the Mods are all gone,He will spam the board,Until the Mods all log on,He will spam the board,So won't you spam the board too? We're still in bed at ten ,But he's been up since 8...He's made 2,000 posts, But hey - he's still our mate! It's like he never seems to go to sleep...And when the mods see all the spam posts it justmakes them all want to weep , He has spammed the board,So many times it's not true,He has spammed the board,About going to the loo,He has spammed the board,Won't you please spam the board too? No one could post so much spam, No-one could talk so much crap, Sometimes it seems like he's the only one who ever posts here, It's like he don't give a damn,About Hosts files or KaZaP, Always posting more and more,Even at his best he's a postwhore! Guitar Slinging Sooooooloooooo !!!!!! Seems like he's never far away from here, We'll have to lure him away with six-packsof Colt '45 beer... He still spams the board,But we all think that he's great,He still spams the board,Right from the morning 'till late,He still spams the board,Won't you still spam the board too? He still spams the board,It seems like that is our fate,He still spams the board,But hey - who cares - he's our mate,He still spams the board,And we'll all spam the board too. Hope ya get some laughs out of this, atleast i did while recording.Song was made rather quick so it is not to be considered as "serious" music. :P Have to admit, i like my 7'stringer tho... My own web-pages are down atm, but i'll probably add a link in here as soon as i get 'em up'n'runnin'. Got a lot of my own made, non-copywrighted music available straight top dl form da pages, as mp3's. I dont know how long this file is available for DL in that location, it is out of my control. Gonna add it in my on pages later tho. Talks laters, and stay tuned.. du'h! Im off to play some Morrowind, or my guitar.
Ashjam
Sry, there doesnt seem to be a connection ? My dl-program tells me...Too bad, it sounds interesting enough though. 1. playing guitar, mostly acoustic (learning) but sometimes electric. btw, just "repaired" another acoustic-gitar ! and it even makes sound now... 2. like lots of it... but not a lot of classical. and dance/house/trance kinda stuff is good for dancing. only. 3. Rammstein, Jimmy H., Toy Dolls, Fishbone, Peppers (the _older_ stuff, like mothers'milk, or funky styley? anyone ?), first 2 cd's from BodyCount, madness, Bowie, Cruachan, Skyclad, pffffff...the dubliners, the pogues.... Rolling Stones. something like that i guess.
