mechine
Just about all my posts are in Technical Support and Modification Troubleshooting So yeah you get to hear about it. Vagrant0 @ http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showuser=162959 Said Using excessively large font sizes, or many, needless spacing between lines which contain single words is annoying and can constitute as spam. This is not appropriate forum behavior because it is often disruptive when someone comes back to actually read the forums. While it is appreciated that you are trying to help, there is certainly no reason to be so disruptive in order to do so. You've gone unnoticed for awhile now, but enough is enough. If you are having technical issues which prevent being able to have one sentence lead into another, you should probably focus on solving that before posting again. Strike issued @ http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=169905 [***********Appeal***********] You forgot http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=169214&hl= in the strike issued Yeah it's a answer to your noobish question. Mr Vagrant0 who maybe doesn't like Mechine. Not that I mean noobish in a bad way, it just means you seem newish to fallout 3. I call my self as many names as I call others. If I do so, I always say I'm just kidding, or even I'm sorry right after. It's never done as a actual insult, and upon returning to the post the next time. If they take it as a insult I'll tell them again I didn't mean it that way. It's shock value, meant to keep it somewhat interesting. Since you know, you have to filter thru miles an miles of this data to get something useful. At the same time, if you read a really well written read me or guide even. You find the really good ones have jokes mixed in. Which hey if you read all that stuff you should at least get something. And so the dance goes on. 1337 internet slang across all the world. Which is funny anyway, because it's not like message boards are meant to be formal. The heart of it is fun, so yeah I try to work that in if I can. I could understand a strike if it was something like unacceptable language, or heck being racist. SPAM? Seariously... Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. My messages are not unsolicited, I reply to things nobody else has replied to, or in cases where I think I have enough knowlege to contribute. Which, yes, sometimes I reply something I've already writen beforeBut that's only because I'm afraid that I'll mess it up an miss something if I have to freestyle write the technical article again for every case. So if I get a good one writen, I'll hang on to it for a while. I'm part of Nexus Forums too, I'd never dump spam in here. If you want to get right down to it Quotes are spam. How much of your server's data is duplicated in Quotes? Yeah, I'm offended that you call my posts spam. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?act=fi...amp;pid=1458303 Do you think you can write all that I wrote in the above strike example link any better? Which is all freestyled BTW. I had to write that all out for his question. I didn't even save it. Which means next time someone asked I would write it again a little different. That one turned out well, maybe if I get a little better one I'll keep it. But we are missing the point, at the bottom, he understood an took part in my humor then thanked me... http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?act=fi...amp;pid=1458252 What ever I did an however I did it, he thanked me, also nobody replyed to his post which was on page 6 I think. At any rate it was headed for the void of posts that got lost forever. I find these an at least say something So that people don't run off from Nexus forums, because it's actually a nice place. The rest of it, that's just me being me. Large text. Well it's on your end. You won't find any fancy bbc or html codes here. I use what is available in the forum interface. It has text size from 1 to 7. Colors, font, and a bunch of other stuff. If you don't like the large text size thing. It's on your end. Remove it from the interface, and I won't use it. I mean it's not like I put up a whole message in size 7 text. It's just shock value stuff, meant to make the forum fun. I did have to change my user options, to use the fancy interface, because the default was causing lagwhen I typed, but I'm not sure if that allows you to use anything more than the default way. Spacing. Well that's just good writing style. Most of the replies are technical in nature. Also for some questions the answer might be a very long technical document. So yeah I double space, I spread it out a bit, so it's more easy to read. I can stop doing it, but the result is going to be lines of text that go on an on, which you can't follow with your eyes. because you lose your place an have to find it again to continue. Double spacing is quite common actually. I say I can stop it, but what you are asking me to do is change my writing style, which I have to say I'm not very comfortable with as an idea. Telling someone what they can or can't write, by how they write, is just fascism. I don't think it's a very big issue. Right now I only have the fallout 3 game. Which is where I spent most of my work on. All the post I write, I write them as a Internet child, and as a gamer. I write them based off how I would like to see things writen. There's only really two boards I go into, mod troubleshooting, an technical support. So to speak the person asking the question gets an answer writen by a gamer for a gamer. It's brought up this issue though, so there is a problem. Asking me to be like everybody else is a problem with me. For one thing I can't. I can only be me. It just won't work. So I guess what we have to do is figure out a compromise. With all the work I've put into this posting on nexus to help folks, I won't abide having a strike against me of this nature. If I messed up, and was really naughty, then yeah I could abide it. However, I was doing my best, and trying really hard to fit in while helping. If I get into trouble for that, then why would I want to contribute to a place that does that? Why would anybody? You're the one in charge. I can only suggest things. 1. Retract your strike, tell me what it is besides what you've already mentioned which would help me avoid this problem, in the faint hope that I forget that I got kicked in the face from the very leaders of the community which I was trying to help anbe a part of in the first place. And that somehow there's a way I can feel like I'm a part of something like that which isn't in a bad way which I.E. would cause me to never contribute in fear that if I do it would be a watered down form which really isn't me being myself, but me being what it is I think won't get me into trouble, or me being the version of myself which you thinkis better... 2. Keep your strike up against someone that was only trying to help. Not much use in me keeping an account. I'd never have the desire to be part of a community like that. But heh, you think it would hurt me, to not spend hours doing this, for other fallout 3 players benefit. My old forum closed down when the game closed down, which led me to Nexus, which up to this pointit has been like a even better home than the first forum. If I don't fit in here then I guess I'll just find somewhere else. 3.Change your forums interface, so that half the stuff you are giving me a strike for, other people can't do as wellWhich would clean up the forums a bit. No double spacing, no large text, no horseplay calling each other noobs an such. Idk I kind of like #3, but half the time I don't know what I'm talking about. If you insist on giving me a strike though, I have to warn you. I'll be leaving nexus forums, but not by choice. I just won't be a part of something that is like that. Lastly, I was part of a MMO for a while, the matrix online, which was mostly a chat box set in a city. So I think maybe that will help you understand the next part. SHINY ORBS OF DOOM UPON THEE! You were reported, the issue was dealt with - that you then question a moderator publicly, in this manner, instead of taking it to private message, earns you the ban you clearly are looking for. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. AS
