Aeothan
Damn it all to hell! I was making such good progress, but 45 minutes ago (yes, I've been trying to fix this damnable problem for a good 3/4th of an hour) my Left Mouse Button just decided to up and stop selecting objects in the render pane when working with my Cell. I can open up ANY other cell and LClicking selects objects, but in my cell, it does not work. I've spent forever and a half rummaging through the "Preferances" of every little nook and cranny in the Construction Set and there is nothing that even remotely describes what's happening. It's as if all of my objects are 'locked', and I can't 'interact' with them. I can't move any objects, select 'em, nada. How do I restore functionality? Please help! ThetaOrionis01
Do you have any other programs running in the background? When using the Morrowind editor I was unable to left click to select items any time my system was performing a virus scan. The MW editor had a fair few quirks, so I wouldn't be surprised to find some in the OBlivion version, too... Can you double-click items to bring up their properties? Can you select items by double-clicking on their entry in the cell contents list? Can you select multiple items by drawing a frame around an area with the mouse? Have you tried saving your work and reloading the plugin, or rebooting?
Aeothan
Do you have any other programs running in the background? Well, I don't quite remember what I had running, but I'm pretty sure out of my mad paranoia as to the cause of my deceased left mouse button's ability to select objects I disabled a bunch of stuff running in the background. I had programs running beforehand that still allowed me to select stuff in the render window, but then suddenly it just stopped, like I pressed a keyboard button or button combination that locked all my objects. Can you double-click items to bring up their properties? No I cannot. :( Can you select items by double-clicking on their entry in the cell contents list? Yeah I can, but then whenever I move back to the render window (to move the object/do whatever to the object) it de-selects it! :(Can you select multiple items by drawing a frame around an area with the mouse? Yeah, I can do that, too. But it still deselects them same as above.Have you tried saving your work and reloading the plugin, or rebooting? Yeah. No luck. :( Thank you for your quick response! Hopefully this added information will better help us resolve the problem.
Aeothan
Any help would be much appreciated! Sorry for bumping it, but I can't finish my cell without being able to select stuff in the render window. :(
Aeothan
Well, I 'fixed' it. Well, not really, but I bypassed it. I duplicated a seperate cell (duplicating my own cell would give me another cell with locked objects), did all the prep stuff (object removal/ect), and pasted a complete render copy of my old cell in it... and wa-la! It lets me select stuff, now. For all who have this problem in the future and cannot seem to fix it through any conventional means, do this: - duplicate a seperate cell that is not your own- rename duplicated cell to "your_old_cell_2" or something- remove all the objects in this new cell- go back to your first cell- draw a box around your ENTIRE cell's contents, go up to Edit->Copy Render- go into your new cell- Edit->Past Render And that's how you get passed it. Hope it helps someone!
