UncleRoe
a big wtf moment for me would be my first encounter with sheogorath.. since i slapped him in the face and he skyrocketed into the air..then left me to fall to my death looney toons style..i figured i was smooth by using godmode through the console..but it seems sheo's wrath surpasses the realm of pixels and crosses into your reality.. because i got smushed.. i have a 70k bounty now and people still praise me as the champion of cyrodiil. apparently you cannot kill mehrunes evil with cheats.. i tried using /kill on him and my game crashed.. he really is immortal... My 2nd playthrough during the clearing of the kvatch area where you fight all the scamps, i watched my entire party of kvatch knights kill each other and everytime someone died they screamed "MURDERDER!!" then attacked the guy who got the last kill.. then attacked the guy who killed him..etc.. It's not a vanilla oblivion moment..but i modded the factions of all dremora summons..so that when they do summon,it attacks them instead of me.. Remcoz
Bringing Martin to the well behind the Mages guild in Skingrad, I think, but anyway he kept drowning and going unconcious and I couldn't get him out. :whistling:  THAT is sadistic
majikmonkee
For my Dark Brotherhood initiation with Corrine, I decided to be fancy and use the Deadly Reflex "sleeping person stab" to do him in instead of just a quick jab like vanilla Oblivion requires. I forgot to crouch before performing the attack, so Corrine smacked him with the butt of the dagger, and he spun 45 degrees around on the bed but didn't get up. I still didn't quite grasp why it hadn't worked, so I tried it a couple more times and just kept sending Rufio spinning around on the bed. He finally woke up and started threatening me, and I finally got fed up with the stealth thing and just whacked him. It was embarassing, and I was very surprised Lucien still came back to complete my initiation after such a botched assassination job... :wallbash:
chaospearl
(sigh) I just did this yesterday... and I should know better by now. I was exploring an Ayleid ruin -- vanilla or mod, I honestly don't know -- and right after the first set of stairs, I came across a hallway that had these large blades swinging from the ceiling, so I had to stop for a minute and get a handle on the pattern of the swinging so I could time it properly to dodge between them. I made it successfully through, but after getting halfway down through the first floor I started to realize I was in WAY over my head. I'd shot every last one of my arrows into a zombie champion, blasted him with fireballs until I was out of magicka, and he still kept coming at me. And I could see a few more zombies shambling closer. Not close enough to tell if they were more zombie champions or just headless zombies I could kill, but I wasn't about to take the chance. So I turned around and started running like hell, only to find that somehow there were now two necromancer apprentices after me shooting spells. I was down to about 10% health left when I finally made it back to the passage that leads out. You can probably guess how this ends. TOTALLY forgot about the swinging blades. I was in such a hurry to get out of that hellhole I just ran flat-out through the passage without looking first, and half a second later... SPLAT! I was so pissed at myself. I'd made it to safety, all I had to do was stop and time my run so I wouldn't get sliced up. I was just so exhausted\relieved\adrenaline-pumped that I just forgot about the damn blades. Damnit. majikmonkee
My first time going into one of those ruins and encountering one of the "asstacular" red welkynd stones. It was sitting on a low pedestal and for some reason, it didn't activate right away until I got right up close to it. Like a genius, after the first time it blasted me, I just stood there like "uhh...what just happened?" Those things are my pet peeve, I have to work so hard to not console click on them and disable them. I think you should have been able to either destroy them or knock them off the pedestal at least in vanilla oblivion.

iavor55
I was playing the Ravenpride Castle quest mod. I was in the crypt you have to go in first to get that special helm. Well since I am a sneak marksman I am going all sneak through a small cave like tunnel that ya commonly see in forts. Just as I am comming to a T intersection I wonder to myself where all the zombies are wish there aren't any cus I hate em. The left way leads to darkness and the right to light and a turn. I head to the left and what I see? The eroded cr*tch of a zombie that is a foot away from me, not detecting me, wondering where his life went. I simply went OH FOR F*CKS SAKES!... Yeah I killed him, but exited oblivion as soon as I did.
SavageArtistry
When I went for the first time into Oblivion gate ( at kvatch) rocks pushed me and throwed me into the lava i was like (oh sh**) xD Those rocks activated for me the first time I played Oblivion a long time ago, and never have since. They just sit there and never roll down the hill. I've never been able to figure that out. Edited January 14, 2011 by SavageArtistry
chaospearl
My first time going into one of those ruins and encountering one of the "asstacular" red welkynd stones. Ha. You know, odd as it sounds, I'm actually amused to see this, because now I know those stupid stones are apparently from the vanilla game and not one of my 300+ mods. That ruin I posted about just before you, with the swinging blades of death, also featured the red welkynd stones. I'd never seen those before... I've been playing this game for over a year but I just don't do very much random dungeon delving. I hadn't ever been into a ruin that featured the kinds of nasty swing-y spike-y shoot-y traps I was seeing; that's why I suspected it might be a mod. I have well over a dozen quest mods in my game that I've never even started, and several more that I've only done the first few minutes of. I do it on purpose because I like to explore the world without knowing for sure what's vanilla and what's mod. You never know when you'll stumble over something really brill like THE MUSHROOM THAT ATE CYRODIIL!
majikmonkee
Yeah, dark welkynd stones are vanilla, thankfully, they are pretty rare. Those and the Uderfrykte Matron are two things I could live without from vanilla. =P
