RideTheCatfish
I was working with a few suburban wasteland homes earlier today. I noticed, to my horror, that the window placement (and number) is different on the outsides and insides of the homes. This occurs no matter which interior and exterior layout combination you choose. I went and checked this in Minefield, just to be sure. Sure enough it applied there as well. Shame on Bethesda. Guh. My immersion really took a hit there. ZEROCS
i noticed that awhile ago and it is really really sad to see such a rediculous error, i try to ignore it as best i can same with the other problems i come across like buildings that have no roofs or buildings that look exactly the same :glare:
evilneko
To be honest, I never even noticed. I curse you for bringing it to my attention.
roquefort
Problem I have with two-storey suburban houses is that once you're inside, the front room goes right up to the roof, which looks all wrong :D
Tony the Wookie
And that is the very reason I am designing new enterior cells for my new building exteriors, and not useing the GECK peices... Maybe if I have time when I am done I will make some building replacements, because really, most of the buildings are pretty bad and mostly the same... gsmanners
Check out the Ewer's residence in Arefu. The inside of that house is twice as big as the outside, and the door is suddenly moved from the corner to the middle of the wall. Also, check out a number of the various shops. A lot of diagonal doors on the outside turn into squared-up doors on the inside.
Ferlith
The Grayditch houses are what drive me insane. On the outside, they're three stories, but on the inside, they're two stories! Where did the other story go?! And don't even get me started on those infernal Metro tunnels. I'm seriously debating making a mod that actually has those going in the right directions, because going into Farragut West, traveling northwest, then suddenly going through a door and winding up way off to the east in Friendship/Tenleytown is absolutely ridiculous. MoneyBackGuarantee
The thing is, it's hard to fix this manually when the window pieces aren't seperate from the walls.
Tony the Wookie
The thing is, it's hard to fix this manually when the window pieces aren't seperate from the walls. That is why I don't use the Bethesda peices in the GECK for my interior cells. I take the exterior of my building model and make a single interior peice from that. If it wern't for the fact that the ceiling won't block the light from the sun, I could put them in the same cell and have windows that you can actually see through... but that is a whole different subject... I completly see why Bethesda uses the peiced together interior method, because of the insane number of buildings they would have to make models for. But when it comes down to someone like me, where I am only makeing a handful of buildings, it is much easier to just make an interior cell in 3Ds Max than it is to try to peice together different GECK peices. But anyways, when I am done with some of my buildings I will put the .nif file up as a moders resource if anyone wants to try to replace some of the vanilla ones.
