Is my system strong enough for heavy modding?

Hi all! Completely new to modding but done a lot of research of what I want to add and I was just wondering if my specs are enough to handle a load of mods, including Opethfeldts enb and some floral mods ( flora overhaul, grass mods to make everything look more full, etc etc ) and a bunch of high res text mods (2k).

 

Specs: i7440k

Radeon r9 280x OC

8gb 2133 ddr3 ram

Asus maximus hero mobo

Your hardware is fine. But even people with monster rigs cannot just thorw a bunch of mods and high-res stuff...you should be able to do a lot, but you will need to go about it systematically and carefully.

SKyrim is limited by its 32-bit game engine. You will hit this limit before you hit your own hardware's limit.

 

I know you said you have done a lot of research, so maybe you have already taken a good look at the STEP Guide? If not, I would recommending reading all through that--even if you don't decide to follow it exactly, it has a lot of good information about setting up a maximized game in a systematic way. It also has a great deal of useful information on utilities you will need to be using. (And also enb setup)

 

Also, if you haven't already done so, Gopher's videos are excellent and can help with general modding as well as setting up utilities like LOOT, or BOSS, etc.

That should be easily enough. Just make sure you use ENBoost (not necessary if you alreasy use an ENB) and the new memory patch.
