toxicdeath2
Hello, I am just getting back into skyrim after not playing it for quite some time and im running on a pretty powerful system, so I want to be able to fully utilize my hardware. I have been doing some reading on 8core ini tweaks that would allow Skyrim to utilize all of my cores, but I have read that it can cause some pretty strange physics issues and other glitches. Does anyone have any experience with these tweaks?
camaro_69_327
The Physics issues come from having to high a FPS ...Like over 80 FPS (Frames per second). With Default INI files (skyrim and skyrimprefs.ini), the game will utilize all 8 threads of my 4 core CPU...Their are some threaded optimizations to do , like having blood and other things as multi threaded, but the game will / should use all you threads of your CPU. You can goggle for "unparking" your cores , it will make them, in an always available state. PIC of Skyrim using 8 threads (4 core) with default INI files 8.8 GB System commit playing Skyrim. Only tweaks i have are...No auto saves (anything). and a grass tweak. Ohh and Vsync disabled, (Nvidia controls that) .

Windows showing CPU usage on cores does not refelct the number of threads.I can already hear some people out there saying "yes it does."Not it doesn't.....Unless I somehow have a 40-5x core cpu that is.You can check the thread count in Resource Manager (Task Manager(Win7 shift+ctrl+escape)>Performance>Resource Monitor(Button at the bottom of Performace)) on the CPU tab. It is also true that you can have multi-thread support but not multi-core support and all the threads run on the same core, but I am not saying that is or is not the case here.
