cfultz
This may be a stupid question but I have no idea how you are suppose to have enough magika to cast some of the higher level spells. Some of them requiring 400-500+ magika. If someone could please explain how to increase your magika to use these i would appreciate it!!!
imahoot
Raise your Intelligence, and/or get access to the Arcane University to put fortify magicka enchantments on your equipment.
Gafnab
Doesnt Willpower have something to do with it?
imahoot
Willpower affects your magicka regen. rate. Intelligence affects how much magicka you have.
ThetaOrionis01
I'm afraid the only thing that makes a real difference are the boosts you get from your race and birthsign. If you haven't chosen the ones which give you a magicka boost you need to try to level intelligence as much as possible, and look for potions or enchantments which fortify magicka. You don't really need 400-500 magicka to cast those spells though. As your spellcasting skill (Destruction or Restoration, for example) increases, the spell casting costs go down. Just go to arcane university and make a spell that increases your destruction skill by 100 for 30 seconds and you can go crazy with your attack spells :D

silverstar
I think Beth may have messed up on magicka. I think it should rise in a way similar to how your HP rises, as a per-level basis. And even if you raise your skills, it still causes limitations. You can't go mad crazy, making a spell that does 100 damage in a 50 radius, for example. I can cast only 3-4 fireballs that do medium damage with that magic rate. It is nearly impossible to play with a pure magic character, maybe if you rely too much potions.
