Cannot edit enb

With the newer enbs do u have the helper.dll? Activate the new enb and search your skyrim dir for "enbhelper". If it is there try without and if it isn't try it with it and let us know how u get on. The guy/girl in that post I linked had the same issue and could edit enb settings in game when using older enbs but not new ones, deleting the helper solved it for him/her. Would be handy if you let us know what version of enb your using, which preset and maybe if you're using the injector or the wrapper version too.

I had the same issue: Remove enbhelper.dll in the enbseries folder, don't delete it just place it somewhere else for the time being, now start up skyrim and you sould now be able to make the changes you want.

If you're done just move the enbhelper.dll back into its original position and you're good to go :P

The thing is, when i enable v0.254 (latest) the problem occurs (cannot edit anything).

You guys say i must remove enbhelper.dll from enbseries folder?

The thing is, that file is not there. it did not came with v0.254.

To Piperman123: i use v0.254 - default (unedited, straight from the zip file) - and wrapper version

EDIT: i just tried realvision, which also did not have any effects, just color.

Then i deleted and after that i moved it to desktop with no result. It still does not work.

Could this be a driver problem? I think not, since if some effects dont work, the whole enb should not work.

And since the color and sometimes god rays work, this is for me out of the question.

Sorry to ask but you are still getting the ENB messages when the game starts right and you are hitting apply then? Anyway, maybe this will help (read the last comment);

http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=799

And again, sorry to ask but are you doing this;

When in the settings menu for ENB [shift]+[enter] you will notice in the upper box you have a few choices.....umm

"Some changes require reloading (apply button)

1) <<<<<<<<Apply changes>>>>>>>>

2) load configuration

3) save configuration

The above is a quote from another forum thread on here;

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1366782-enb-in-game-gui-settings-wont-change-please-help-enb-guy-doesnt-help-at-all/

Really hope you get it working as I remember how frustrating it was when it was happening to me.

Posted me...lol. thanks for that.. Since most do not like to read i brought a Quote here for everyone and will make notes. First the ONLY place you can Get the ENB Binarys is from ENB.DEV. All you can ever get from the Nexus is a preset, You will be missing some stuff if you do not get files from Enb.dev. if you go to Enb.dev. Click the NEWS button., then near bottom of page click "TES Skyrim"

On the next page click the top Binary file (at present it is 254) when you get to that page , if you do some reading before you go to the bottom of the page and click the (downward facing ) Arrow , to get your Download.

I will place the Quote here to help clear up misconceptions on INI settings.

ENBSeries v0.254 for TES Skyrim

POSTING THE ENBSERIES BINARY FILES ON NEXUS SITES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED <<<this IS why you need to get files at ENB.DEV

Only bugfixes in this version.

This version require helper mod to run per weather setups (if not used, then ignore helper mod), download it from link in readme. <<helper MOD IS "enbhelper.dll"
bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 must be set in SkyrimPrefs.ini file to make this mod work. Start SkyrimLauncher.exe to configure your video options again.
Sky lighting to work correctly require rendering objects to shadow, so edit manually following lines in file SkyrimPrefs.ini: <<<yes do the Edits
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowsOnGrass=1

This is just the mod with default preset, download customized presets and shaders from the forum or other sites. <<<as stated this is a pure un edited ENB

v0.252: Tweaked ENBoost memory manager to increase performance when no free video memory available. Parameter ReservedMemorySizeMb now can be modified inside editor in game.<<<thanks Boris.
v0.251: Added parameters to control mipmapping lod bias. Added texOriginal texture type for effect.txt shaders which is always unchanged first texture, this allow to make some more complex computations. Added text messages on shader compilation errors.
v0.250: Changed ENBoost, now it support up to 128 Gb of memory or about 192 when compression enabled, may be this will be useful for the future. Don't forget to update ENBHOST.EXE file. Added mist effect, it may work without helper plugin, but then absolute world positioning will not work, so grab enbhelper from http://www.dev-c.com/skyrim/. I'll fix all it artifacts in updates. Added anchors editor for mist effect to allow modify vertical offset of the mist in different places. Now the mist (which is fog and haze in same effect) have all required properties and i'm not planning to add new, so feel free to build presets with it. Increased startup performance.

The enbhelper.dll never did come with an ENB, some Presets included it . Most did not. get it from either the link above or .....read the readme.

Graphic mod / patch ENBSeries 0.209

This version based on 0.207, but added VideoMemorySizeMb variable instead of automatic detection, so everybody with performance issues, freezing and stuttering, tweak it properly and don't bother me without reason, all bugs are on your side. This parameter mean how much memory used as vram for my memory manager, if very low, then frequent reallocations will happen, so lower performance, but more stable against not loading saved games (DisablePreloadToVRAM too). Value above size of physical video memory is allowed, but you have risk to get errors because of drivers and other software (but this must not happen if system is clean and user is smart), useful to try for 64-bit systems with more than 4 gb system memory installed and not much vram, performance must be better. Don't set it bigger than VRAM+RAM-2048. This value do not add any memory usage to the game process (but ReservedMemorySizeMb do).

VideoMemorySizeMb =.....

How much memory (RAM) used as VRAM......yes this is a post of Boris's , So the OP's Math would go like this....

Sapphire Hd 6850 1gb vram (1)
6gb ram (6)

----------------------

1+ 6 - 2 = 5 GB = 5120 MB

The - 2048 is to insure you do not run out of system ram because of background processes. I have always had ENBhelper.dll and have never moved it to Edit.

My math would be 16 GB system RAM + 3 GB VRAM - 2048 = 17 GB, but Boris himself has stated MAX is 10240 (10 GB). From what i understood, IF it ever wanted more it would spawn another process giving another 10 GB, till the absolute MAX of 192 GB!! I set it to auto and ENB gave me 10880.

Have Fun, tweak and learn. Don't just listen to a few, go to the source. So many people do not understand this setting.

IF you are using MO (Mod Orginizer) your INI files are not where everyone else's are.

:smile: Hope this helps...

Oh wow I wasn't aware that it would spawn multiple processes, that's pretty sweet. I only have a 2GB card with 8GB of ram so I don't go over that max, but I've never been sure what I should put as my reservedmemorysize setting.

Do the things that are not working have something in common?

Well, now u say so,

The things i cannot edit is mostly textures color's, mostly the [environment] and the [sky] parameters.

This mostly happens on newer versions.

Effects seem to work sometimes, like god rays, but they only work on older versions, like v0.113

I tested it with reallike v0.198: the colors looked ok, but god rays and detailed shadows just didn't work.

Well, i think i am gonna leave it as it is at the moment and change to v0.113 and ingame edit using enb customizer.

I think this is a driver problem and that i can only be fixed by downgrading drivers.

If i do that, it MIGHT work, but Watch_Dogs will keep giving me BSOD's, so i'll stick with these drivers and live without the newest enb :P

But suggestions are still welcome!
