Roughnecks2277
Is the nvidia Geforce 9800 a good graphics card for playing Fallout 3? :thanks: Too everyone who is helping me get started
gsmanners
IMHO a 9800 is overkill. Way more than enough to play on "high" settings. Just make sure you have a really nice power supply.

While it may be overkill for now that that graphics power should prove useful for future games
Alastair91
You can't really say it's overkill. Awesome graphics card doesn't mean you'll have smooth game play with high graphics settings. Lots of stuff matters, for instance, what screen resolution are you going to play on, your ram, cpu, etc...
Roughnecks2277
yeah i found it here and im asking cause it seems a bit cheap and iv never had to deal with my graphics card before: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-01G-P3-N981-TR-...mp;sr=8-2-spell
DagonTheranis
Why is this called ISO? Aren't they piracy?
gsmanners
That card is the highest rated 9800 card on Newegg, so not a bad choice. Alternately, you might consider these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814125286http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814500144http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814133304http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814127441 etc.
jaysus
ya, why do you put ISO in front of all your posts? anyway aint the 9800 a lil bit outdated by now? the next gen is out since a year by now... i would also suggest to get an ati card if you want to use it for gamebryo games like fallout as nvidia cards seem to have problems with certain translucent objects (to my experience and in regards to bug reports i received)

CommanderCrazy
You think a 9800 is overkill, I gave my rig to a mate to upgrade....And he put 2 NVidia GTX285 in crossfire in! CRAP!
