WoogieMonster
Clicking the FOSE_launcher (or FOSE_loader) causes the game to boot/launch with the Fallout Script Extender enabled. It is common practice to simply use the properties window for the Fallout shortcut to change the shortcuts target path to point at the FOSE_loader. That way, you can continue using the desktop shortcut rather than going through your install folder to find the FOSE_launcher.exe each time you want to play. Simply clicking the normal game shortcut, will not allow FOSE to run, even if it is installed properly, because it is not a mod.
apaosha
What he said. But generally I use FOMM to launch my game, which sidesteps the need to redirect shortcuts. It's very convenient when it comes to mod management ...... as the name might suggest.
Roughnecks2277
I get it now but where should mi save FOSE when downloading?
pkleiss
FOSE - Fallout Script Extender adds a bunch of scripting commands that modders can use when creating mods with the Geck, or players can use when playing a mod that has FOSE functions in it. If you run a mod that needs FOSE, but FOSE is not running then the scripts that use FOSE functions will fail - leading to an unpleasant gaming experience.
