Persistent Creatures in MOD

I have created a MOD with several creatures, when I played the mod I noticed there were 3 of each creature for every one I put in. So I deleted the creatures, but when I play there is still 3 for each one that was there.

I check the object table for the Grids I'm working in in TES, and there is nothing listed there for creatures. If I add new creatures it seems to work ok, just can't get rid of old ones.

Any ideas? Just a MOD Optimization I hope....

Thanks,

vyk

Are you using the same savegame each time? If you have the creature in a savegame once, then make changes to your plugin and reuse the same savegame you might get duplicated creatures.

I once loaded a savegame after making a change to a plugin, and suddenly all my NPCs had turned into Siamese twins....

i've encountered this problem several times with mods that i'll delete and something is latched onto the savegame. most notable is the floating skeleton corpse over seyda need, still can't get rid of it.

Same thing happened when i deleted giants, seeing a jamison troll running around headless outside of balmora was quite hilarious.

I haven't figured out a way to amend the situation but it has something to do with left over data in your save game. If you have a save without the MOD then I would go back and see about starting from there, otherwise i'd just move on and live with it. sometimes, like you said, just playing with stuff in the editor fixes it.

Another possibility about this is that the data in a certain cell gets saved to file and that's what gets left over. with the example of the troll it was only in balmora, where the save game was, where it occured.
