Its one thing to stop work on your mod due to pressure, real or perceived. But to just remove everything you've already done, to "take your toys and go home" as someone else on here put it, its just childish and serves no purpose whatsoever. I think I'm just going back to Oblivion... and yes I know that the same crap happens over there, but at least there are plenty of well established mods you can actually still get. DA is too new for this crap to be happening, it seems like every other mod worth checking out has been pulled for one reason or another. If modders don't like what people say, they can just disable comments. But they don't get paid to make mods, so taking away a mod is probably the only way to get a point across. It would help if there were less people like yourself with this sense of entitlement, mods are a bonus given to us by people happy to share their creations, they are not things we have a right to expect others to make. Say, you install TONS of mods (like I do), had to format your hard drive, then you think you can go back to playing, but playing without the mods isn't fun anymore. spaminator Posted January 28, 2010 Author Share Posted January 28, 2010 For one thing, this isn't a fake account, I've just never posted here before because I'm mostly on this site to download cool mods that add value to the games I bought. And its not so much a sense of entitlement, after all you will never see me post to try to hurry up someone working on a mod, but I'm talking about them taking down stuff they already made. Why not just leave it available, even if they aren't going to work on it anymore? And the person above me is absolutely correct. Some of these mods really are critical to fully enjoy the games. Oblivion is a very good example. Bethesda couldn't model their way out of a wet paper bag, but fortunately we have lots of talented people who can. And their work is what makes the game worth playing. The same is true in ways for Bioware, but in this case a lot of the decent mods that seemed to make the game so much better are just gone, for no really good reason. Again, I'm not compaining about them doing more work on them, just making whats already done available because its done and some people already have it, so why not just leave it for people who happened to get the game a little later? Or help you in obtaining what you are looking for. All members here are free to share their work at their discretion. If for some reason they decide to pull the mod it is their right to do so.....was the mod removed because it is being updated/improved and the uploader has decided that he does not desire to support the old one when the new one is taking all of his time. Feel free to contact me by pm and tell me what you are looking for. If it was hosted on this family of sites there is a 99.9% chance that I have a copy in my extensive archives they are only just under 800gigs of data so I just may have a copy. If the file was on this site for at least 24 hours I have a copy, as I personally check each and every uploaded/updated file everyday. Well, drama started after few mods disappeared (for me, the only reason to post here was Ancient Blood Magic mod) such as Better Combat, or Dragon Age Redesigned - funny, I was using it, there wasn't anything wrong about it, so why?
