Dark0ne
Just played a little bit of it this evening. It's a typical EA/Dice game. Lag-friggin-tastic with god awful netcode and god awful hit boxes. I definately won't be buying this.

WaLkAwaY
Only thing is, if you are a FPS fan then your choices are limited. Its either M.A.G., MW2 or BFBC2 how do you choose when reviews (player reviews the only ones that count) are saying they all stink. Maybe BFBC2 is the lesser of the bad? One of the people in my group raves about it says he is playing it on his laptop. I have to remind him that he is playing the beta and the finished product may in fact be very different as it is still what a month a way? The system requirements for it are serious though, if you wish to run it at a reasonable FR the recommended specs are needed. If you try to go under the minimum system specs it probably will be unplayable much like Red Faction:: Guerrilla. Can't wait until Diablo III comes out, give FPS a rest. Specs for BFBC2: JIC people were wondering. Dark0ne
I'd just stick with the Source Engine based games (CSS, Day of Defeat: Source, HL2DM, L4D etc.). While the hitboxes are known to have some issues (especially when jumping around corners) the netcode on the source engine is brilliant (so you don't need to lead your targets like you're playing in a 56k modem like in the battlefield series...). Source suffered slightly from changing it's mechanics a bit from CS 1.6/DoD 1.3 so lost out on some support from the hardcore players but it's still the best competitive FPS engine in my opinion. Honourable mention to the Unreal Tournament series that had brilliant netcode and hitboxes but just offered a different type of gameplay altogether. I could not get past the whole paying for weapons thing in CS, so my experience with that is limited however if it looks anything like RvS or AA then I like my games to have little more graphically. I did play UT for the longest time and absolutely loved it and agree with you on both points, and yeah I think the UT style of game play was what gave way to the FPS of now a days where you are able to bunny hop and dive, just more fast paced I guess. I miss the RvS days. There was a game that was fun to play on line but lost its way and had a lot of cheaters that was ET:Quake Wars. I don't know about you but I kind of miss the Quake style games, I should have gotten into tribes two. Most FPS games these days are trying to throw together randoms and expecting that you will work as a team, instead most people just go off and do what they want and only care about k/d and hit %... or the game is just trying to be too much. Dark0ne
I've been playing this a bit more, and enjoying it a bit more. Currently my main issue is with the distinct lack of anti-air that makes taking out the Apache in later stages of the game ridiculously difficult. It also makes for a very amusing game I play with friends that involves speccing out the tracer gun and all going engineer, trying to get a tracer dart on the helicopter and then all shooting homing rockets at it. Anyone found an easier way of taking out the Apache?
WaLkAwaY
I missed out on the beta but I can ask over at the other forums where everyone is playing it seems everyone is playing it.
evilkoal
yeah i just usually aim where i think the apache will be, then shoot and i usually hit... but are you locking on target when you shoot the missiles at the homing tag? you can lock on and turn up pretty far and usually shoot it down unless they are moving fast
