FadingCeiling
In FOMM did you click the Toggle Invalidation? (that actually applies the archive invalidation)
Zerayan
In FOMM did you click the Toggle Invalidation? (that actually applies the archive invalidation) Oh yeah, I did for sure. It asked if I wanted to apply Archive Invalidation and I clicked yes =P. To be honest, I don't know what else is left to do to solve the freezing/crashing issue. All I know is, it's not fun to play at all, not to mention that I can't progress in the game unless I save every 2 minutes with the amount of saves already surpassed 300. GrandsonOfSam
The unofficial patch is only to circumvent errors that came with the official 1.5 patch, so if you are using GOTY, DO NOT use the unofficial patch :) The GOTY 1.7 has all of the bugs from 1.5 fixed, so using the unofficial patch probably will be extremely incompatible with it. Oh, that's good to know, but I'm actually using the very first version of F3 that was released, not GOTY. I installed F3, then the Official 1.7 Patch, then all DLCs, the UFO3P and finally, the other few mods I installed. Here's my Load Order again: Fallout3.esmPointLookout.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBrokenSteel.esmZeta.esmUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esmUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.espFellout-Full.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-pipboylight.espFollowersHireContinued-KarmaCheck-NoCharismaCheck-NoCountCheck.espAnchorageGaussRifleVATSFix.espGaussRifleRepairFix.esp I'm very eager to solve the constant crashing issue. The only other issue is how ridiculously dark night time is with Fellout (can't do anything during night time, have to wait until day).
GrandsonOfSam
Sorry for being a bit vague about the patch thing, but if you have updated to 1.7, be it "normal" or GOTY, don't use the unofficial patch :)
Fonger
Sorry for being a bit vague about the patch thing, but if you have updated to 1.7, be it "normal" or GOTY, don't use the unofficial patch :)this post confused me, so I was forced to do some background checking. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8216Bethesda released its 1.7 patch on or before Aug 4, 2009. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3808Unofficial Patch last updated Aug 12, 2009 After 1.7 was released and it appears that QUARN was waiting for this (1.7) patch to finalize. Implying that the Unoffical patch should be used with the 1.7 official patch.
GrandsonOfSam
Ok, maybe there is something in the unofficial patch for 1.7 official patch too, but after using 1.7 (GOTY version, supposedly the same update pre-applied as the "normal" 1.7 patch) for hundreds of hours, I definately would recommend the official patch, especially as some mods actually need the 1.7 patch to work. I hope I'm corrected if someone knows for sure that the unofficial patch fixes errors also from 1.7 that are not mentioned anywhere. I can't downgrade my game, but I can buy a normal version and use that with the patch if its more stable.
Zerayan
I'm still firmly entrenched at ground zero of the problem - I'm out of ideas. If anyone has any idea whatsoever a solution to the problem, I'm all ears.
FadingCeiling
At this point the only thing I can think of is: 1. Does it crash with just Fallout 3 with the DLCs?2. If it doesn't crash then install the UF3P and check again.3. If it doesn't still crash then install Fellout.
GrandsonOfSam
Actually one thing I would try is to uncheck the followers mod, as it is one of the mods I didn't get working at all on my setup. For Fellout, it comes with an alternate .esp names Fellout-SOTD.esp that isn't as dark at nights, even though you might not see anything further than 20 meters away even with it's settings. There is a mod on Nexus that restores the vanilla nights to Fellout, but it's like daytime with less colors :) In my experience, Fellout is very stable and does not conflict with anything (I have tested over 400 mods myself with Fellout always on my list).
