Will I like Dragon Age?

I played Oblivion after I played DA:O, and I managed to tolerate it for a few hours. Oblivion to me is a game that occupies you while waiting for other games you like more to come out. To me, DA:O is probably the first western-rpg to rival the japanese console rpgs in terms of storyline. As a matter of Fact, I think Dragon Age was so good, that even Mass Effect 2 by comparison feels like a disapointment.

Thanks to everyone for all your great input.

My conclusion is that I probably will buy dragon Age Origin at some point.

But like Fallout3 I'm not in that big of a hurry to get it.

This will amaze you but I have never played WOW, AION or LOTRO.

Played LOTRO Battle For Middle-Earth online but didn't like the on-line play , I guess I just don't like on-line games.

I've played networked games like Unreal, Medal of Honor & other shoot'em up type games & liked them.

The people here at the Nexus are some of the best bunch of folks you could ever meet, I have asked questions / help and the community always comes through.

:thanks: Thanks again! :thanks:

 I was in love with Oblivion, too. When I got bored with it I was introduced to Oscuro's Oblivion Mod. Ran around Fallout 3. These were games however, that I did not purchase for myselft. My husband is a bit of a tech nerd and has always purchased new games for fun. I was the one who would end up playing them through the end. Loved Oblivion because fighting with swords and magic vs. guns, tanks and the like was a little less real and more theraputic...I can no longer play with guns these days. Just seems wrong. So I bought DAO for myself.

Just finished it without a cheat and totally vanilla. Great fun.

I've got to say I am hooked on DAO. I appreciate the quality and depth of the back-lore. Truth be told, watching my char interact and fight without having to constantly click to kill is well, pretty cool.

Mow I, too, am a newbie, dropping a first line at a game forum and about to embark on (gasp) some mods. All by myself - with the help of this forum.

You'll like it, I believe.

thats what I like 2 hear :) Jus outta curiosity, is it possible to use an xbox 360 controller for the pc version??

Why would you want too? Having the keyboard is awesome. You can bind keys for easy access. The mouse is a must so you can easily click on enemies, initiate commands, rotate the view, highlight multiple targets and much more.

As for the topic. I'll just add that for the most part all the NPCs in the game sound different. Unlike Oblivion and Fallout 3 where everyone sounds the same. :P

Ahh ... well I'm not sure if it has native gamepad support. You could always try Xpadder. That will allow you to get gamepad support on pretty much any PC game.

There's also Pinnacle Game Profiler, it's more advanced but the best option overall.
