2 out of 3 Nexus sites won't load!

About 20 minutes ago I visited TESNexus, started browsing the Recent Activity to see if I'd missed any new mod updates or new uploads. Tried to check a files details only to realise that the site had auto-logged me out yet again (all the Nexus sites seem to do this every 3-4 days). So I logged in on TESNexus, FO3Nexus and DANexus, then returned to TESNexus. I'd been on the site for about 3 minutes and it stopped responding (happens frequently). So, as usual, I used my browsers back button to return to my start page. I tried FO3Nexus, no response, just a "Connection Reset by server" message. So I tried DANexus, same result! Tried TESNexus again, that one was working again, sadly only for about 2 minutes before it stopped responding! Once again I tried FO3Nexus and DANexus but just got no response at all. Tried TESNexus again, that was working again, tried FO3Nexus and DANexus once more, nope, neither site would respond!

Now this is, for me, a regular occurence. If I had to guess at an average I'd say that about 35% of the time I try to visit one of the Nexus sites, there's simply no response. About 40% of the time the site loads fine but after about 2-3 minutes the site stops responding. I regularly see "waiting for www.***nexus.com..." and "waiting for www.blacktreegaming.com..." messages in the bottom left corner of my browser (using Firefox v3.5.7). So I'm left with about 25% of the time that I visit a Nexus site I actually get a working site that I'm able to use fully for an extended period of time. Not really a good average.

I don't expect this will ever improve, maybe I'm just unlucky with accessing the Nexus sites, maybe there's something about my internet connection that doesn't like the Nexus sites, maybe I'm just picking the wrong times to access the sites. I don't know what the problem is, it's not a new problem, I've accepted it for quite some time now, but tonight it just really ticked me off and so I felt it was time to post about it in an attempt to vent some of my frustration at the refusal of the Nexus sites to work properly! :(

About your log in problems. I've been using Internet Explorer before and had log in problems on a daily basis. Since I switched to Firefox, same version that you use I had no more log in problems. The first time I logged in using firefox it asked me if I want it to remember my password and I accepted. I had no problems ever since. Delete your cookies. This is the most common advice moderators give.

There is huge activity on these family of sites so chances are you will experience problems. The things you mentioned happened to me to, but not that often. I rarely use F3nexus and DANexus so I would not know, but sometimes TESNexus just doesn't want to work, but not for long periods of time. It's usualy a matter of minutes and then it's running properly again.

Thanks for the heads up Grizzly. The main problem is that I have been away pretty much the whole time since moving the servers and so I haven't been able to properly monitor the servers. As such I can't really tell you whether this is an isolated incident or whether this is regularly occuring at the moment.

Just bear with me; it's going to take a little time just because I'm so busy right now but it's obviously very important to me.

@ Pushkatu

Thanks for the advice, however I'd already set Firefox to remember my password for each site. But, just in case, I've deleted all the Nexus cookies I could find (dragonagenexus, fallout3nexus, tesnexus, thenexusforums and central.blacktreegaming) along with removing the stored passwords for all Nexus sites and logged back in on all sites. Set Firefox to remember the password for each site, so will have to wait and see if any of the sites auto-log me out. The forums have never auto-logged me out, only the 3 game sites seem to do that.

@ Dark0ne

Apologies for venting my frustration in such a manner, normally I simply accept the problem and try again later. I know you work tremendously hard to keep all the Nexus sites working and fully functional, heck, I've been using your sites for quite some time now! I certainly appreciate the work that you (and your team) put in to keep everything going, I know from experience that 99% of the time it's a thankless task. If there's anything I can do to help out in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask. I, and I'm sure many, many others, would be lost without the Nexus sites!
