General NPC mods.

Hi, im new to the world of Obvlivion modding,

There are several mods i would be interested in having, if possible.

1) More NPCs in cities, and walking between cities

2) Ways to become necromancers/hedge wizards (anything thats against the law) and have good quests to do

3) Ways to place things down on shelves, like in stores

4) (this might not be a mod) a way to be able to sell my 21000 ring, for more than the lousy 800 the thieves guild fence offeres.

5) More good quests that stay within the boundries of Oblivion (e.g nothing imported from other games, like banshees from halo)

Im really just looking for a, more crowded Obvlivion, with more people.

Any links/advice would be GREATLY appreciated,

Thanks guys!

Jono x

EDIT: Ive no idea where to put a mod and how to get it working, help with this woudl be the best :D

Open the console mode, click on any merchant you want to trade, type: 'setbartergold <value>'. The maximum gold for barter is around 64000~65000. And, when your mercantile level is over 75, you can invest some gold to traders.

About investment, check these mods:

Alright now, let's not shoot this down: I've been downloading from here for almost 2 years, and I haven't found any truely good NPC revamps, and that's the one thing Oblivion is really lacking--CHARACTER DEPTH.

I'm sure that all the changes would be really, easy, too. For instance: there are hardly ANY wilderness homesteads, cities are big, but their populations are under 25 it seems (crowded cities somewhat fixed that, but compare it Assassins Creed 2-- there's hardly ANYBODY), there probably ought to be a revamped thieving system--I know there are a couple mods for this, but none that allow truly covert pickpocketing etc.--The NPCs of Oblivion are generally UGLY (again, a few mods, but not enough), there is no true perpetuation of social classes and statuses hinted at in the game...

I could go on for quite some time about all the minor changes. Remember though; It's the "minor" details are everything.

Shouldn't you make a new hread for your request, instead of hijacking this guy's thread?

To get back on subject:

I've used several. Inside cities, modem's City Life, Crowded Cities, and the Extended series do very well, but watch your framerates! They'll drop precipitously, especially if you use Extended IC on top of the rest, as I do. I'm seriously considering removing the latter, though it really does create the sense of a bustling city.

Outside, I suggest Tamriel Travelers. It's the most configurable of the "add people to roads" mods, and works well with other mods that affect outdoor areas (such as Martigen's). Crowded Roads is good, but if you add too many of these mods together outdoors, you'll begin to notice NPCs in combat just standing around: too many actors in a combat zone, and the AI can't handle them.

You mentioned an FPS hit, but that's easily fixed with the use of Streamline

Well, Streamline doesn't do all that much that you can't, IMHO. It just works by automatically reducing you resolution and settings to make them more managable, but at the cost of clarity; and I find it doesn't help much.
