EpicFurnace
Please help, I know this a reoccurring problem and have seen many threads about it but no way to fix it.I've tried downloading both Skryim and Oblivion mods, manually and from NMM, but both only go at ~20kb/s This is really annoying because 480 mb takes several hours to download and it should only take a few minutes. My friend does not have this problem, I don't have this problem on a different computer and my internet is fine.I read things hinting that it could be a restriction with my firewall or router but no way of resolving it.How do I fix this? Thandal
<snip>I don't have this problem on a different computer and my internet is fine. This conclusively demonstrates that the issue is with something on your system. You can further isolate where the problem might be by logging onto the same computer with another account (create an "ordinary user" account for testing if you don't already have one.) Does the problem persist? 1. If no, then it's unlikely to be caused by your firewall or a/v programs and you can start examining what's different about your settings under your usual account.a. I'd continue testing by logging-on with my usual account and trying with a different browser. If that fixes things you'll know it's something with your regular one. b. Next, I'd log-on with my usual account and log completely OFF the Nexus, Files and Forums, flush my browser cache, and try again. 2. If the other user account has has the same issue, then it's time to start looking at your firewall(s) and "local network configuration" for the source of the problem. Dark0ne
This seems to be an issue that affects a small minority of users. I cannot say whether it's something on the user's system or something to do with the unique connection between the user, the ISP and the servers we host the downloads from. You're not alone, but thus far it's been impossible to work out what exactly causes this. It may sound silly, but if you're in the US, try changing your location to the EU, and vice-versa and see if you get any change at all.
EpicFurnace
I'm currently using Google Chrome so I tried Firefox with no change, but strangely enough switching to EU from US actually helped and is downloading at a reasonable speed! Thanks for the help! Octopuss
I've had my share of slow downloads lately as well. I don't think it's a problem on users' end, because this only happens sometimes, but unfortunately, seemingly randomly. It might be some obscure routing problem for all I know. It's the internets, after all.P.S. I am an euro.
