Ifer
Okay scenario.... Running an armored caster lvl 19...Int is into the 90's, willpower is high 80's. Magic pool is 280ish atm. Most spell schools in upper 60's low 70's (only illusion over 75 though) Weapon/Armor skills in upper 50's. I tear through most other mob types like a hot knife through butter but every time i run into high level Undead(not vampires) at best I win a long grinding battle of attrition in which i usually wind up sucking a lot more potions than I would like too or if i get cornered I get used as a floor mat. Which would be better...working on bumrushing conjuration up past 75 so I can get the lvl 20+ turn undead spells or working on destruction for the mana savings so I can afford extended volleys of destruction spells.Because these dread zombies and wraiths are shrugging off 50 pt damage spells like I was throwing a 6pt Flare at them. suzerain
those dread zombies are great for grinding a level or so though. get half a dozen cheap swords, antagonise one, run away, stand on a big rock, and keep chopping away swapping sowrds as they break. they heal as fast as you can hit, and can rack up a tonne of skills in blade/blunt, whatver.... I think you need to hit 75 in conjuration to summon Daedroth but Clannfear and Dremora should do fairly well. Just resummon another creature when the current one dies. I find that my magicka regenerates faster than the duration of the creatures I summon and it sounds like you should have high enough magicka and wisdom for that to be true as well. As a fringe benefit, it should also help get your conjuration past the 75 point. Ideally you should have a decent stealth skill or the right potions/illusion spells to make yourself unobtrussive so the undead will ignore you to fight your conjured designated fighter. If the tactical situation allows you can use a bow or ranged destruction spells to help finish off the undead (or any other monsters) fighting your conjured creature while staying out of harm's way your self. timboe
Remember undead have a natural weakness to fire, I whip out my combined weakness to fire 25% + 25pt Fire damage for 2 sec spell. Dread Zombie will take around 4 of these.
HiSteph
Press ~ to open consoleUse mouse to click on dread zombietype killpress enterpress ~ to close consolemove on To put it bluntly, they are not worth your time. While you're hacking / blasting away at them for who knows how long are you actually enjoying yourself or are you groaning, just wondering how long it's going to take? I don't know about you, but I have better things to do. Don't get me wrong, I used to fight them until I finally took them out. Then I wondered why I was wasting my time instead of having fun while playing the game. That's the whole point after all. To each their own, though. :)
Firebeard
Why use spells? Just HACK AT THEM!! RAAARRGGHHH!!! Use that axe like a real man!!
BlakeRedfield
I feel the exact same way Ifer. I want to play the game fair - no ~ kill commands - and stuff but its just a waste of time. I had a dread zombie follow me into town once, just so the city guards could take it out, since I had run out of potions and my weapons were broken! Is there a way to identify elemental / weapon type weaknesses of new enemies? Maybe a Scan spell addon is in order, or are there books that tell you that Zombies are weak to fire, for instance? mechsaber
have you tried using shield and reflect damage spells? my mage uses only robes, my homemade shield spell makes so they cant do a thing to me mwahahahaha. (and no the spell isnt a mod)
SoulBlazer_87
Personally I go with heavy armor, a big blade and a big shield (or maybe just a really BIG blade)!!!Otherwise for "weak" mages improve destruction and get flash bolt or something like that. Besides if you're mage then enchant a wapon and give it as much fire damage as possible! (I once made a sword dealing 60 something damage!!! Absolute overkill!) If you also add a soultrap 2secs effect you have a self rechaging (so to speak) weapon!!!
