Yes, a few people have in the past and usually people don't pick it up. I do believe it's planned in the Independent NV mod but it's a large mod so it will be some time until it's complete.

Hi!

 

I was actually thinking of doing a Nipton mod a while ago... like repopulate, remove the fires, blood, crosses, and make it into a little trading town? I'd be interested in trying it out :D At the moment I'm busy with exams, though winter break is coming up soon. I currently have a WIP Goodsprings mod, I'm just adding a few more families, adding some fences, basic stuff.

There are lots of Clean Nipton mods out there. They usually are triggered when you first walk into Nipton, They take effect about 1-2 game days later. That means that the Fire and smoke will be there your first visit (so the encounter with doghead will go on normally). Then it will be cleaned usually by your second visit.

 

that being said, you should do something similar to that, but when its clean the next time you run go there, you meat scavengers, explorers, or troopers say they have cleaned the place to make it habitable again. A funny thing you could add is that they make Boxcars their store clerk as he cannot move from there (and he is not thrilled about it). I think that would be funny.

I see, really cool. Thanks! I could consider making a simple mod to rebuild Nipton, add some traders and such around, if OP is still interested. Of course it may take a little while to complete (if I get around to it) but it would be fun, I think :)

I think I may give this a shot (for Nipton), if OP ever comes back.

Even if he doesn't come back, I suggest you do it. I have a request if its not to much trouble.....

 

Instead of it miraculously coming back, you should make it so that the PC has to get it running, in turn you become the Mayor/Governor of the town. I and you get a steady supply of caps every week depending on how well it is doing.

 

It doesn't need to be fancy, just go pay the Mojave Express to spread word that the town is safe, then a few people show up. You talk to a rep of Crimson Caravan to get stock for a store (enables the general store), You talk to the followers or the Vegas Clinic to get a medically trained person to set up (in the town hall somewhere I would say). Then hire some mercs for the defense. every time you add a group you get payed more. All the "additions" would cost the PC anywhere from 5 to 15 thousand caps. To add to the reactiveness, then you might need to hire a mercenary to replace one that died (not really but that's what it will say), or the doctor may say they need more medical supplies as something is going around.
