kiwashi
I bought Fallout 3 GotYE (the box set...not from steam) and would love to start modding it...but every time I try to open the nexus mod manager, it says that its "unable to get written permission" and that i "should re-install". I tried to re-install but it gave me the same answer and told me to try moving the game data into a new location by re-installing it yet again. My question is where should I move fallout to? And will not having steam affect the way I have to mod the game? Help? ;m;
JimboUK
Install it anywhere outside of your program files, C:\Fallout will do. Also, run NMM as admin.

M48A5
Don't forget that you have to download and install the 1.7 update and the Games for Windows Live Client. Check out this for further instructions: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1465357-installing-fallout-3-with-windows-78-and-xp/ You will probably run into a problem installing the DLCs. After you have installed the 1.7 update and the GFWL client, do a computer restart and restart in "Safe Mod with networking". At this time you can install the second disc without a problem. Make sure you direct the installation to the same location as the main game.
