Copying between worldspaces

Hi, thanks for reading.

Im pretty new but learning very fast, have pretty good IT skills all the usual tools, fairly fluent with them, can read and understand fairly complex instructions and manuals.

What I am seeking advice on is COPYING a fairly large outside area into a new worldspace, thats everything, including recreate the land.

Then delete and clean up the original area, leaving it clear.

I am working on quite a large expansion for an existing but older mod, sadly this mods location in Tamriel conflicts with another, hence the up tents and move it away within Tamriel or better yet into its own worldspace. Travel between worldspace Tamriel and the new one to be created to link the the two, this link would be moved away from any conflicts etc.

Then everyone can enjoy both mods and not have to choose to exclude one.

So any help... any tools out there that can copy x by x cells and dump into a new worldspace?

Or will I be stuck copying small chunks across without crashing the pc?

I wish to keep exact details quiet for now, if its possible and feasible to complete this then I will be seeking permissions from all those concerned- not foreseeing any problems if it was done extremely well, and obviously full credits to the original authors etc.

That would be negotiated at the time, no point in doing that yet as Im unsure if this this transplant is possible.

Thanks for any help and advice in advance and best regards.

I know that you can copy an entire worldspace. Just rigt click on it and "Duplicate" then give it a new name.

That will copy the whole thing. That's what you will need to do in order to copy the actual terrain.

There is an alternative, such as exporting/importing heightmaps, but that is beyond my expertise.

To copy everything in the cell will be tricky in a wilderness, but you can position the camera high up then drag-select large areas and copy, then use the "Paste in Place" option in the new cell. This will actually work across cells, provided they are in the same quadrant. But, I don't fully understand how the whole quadrant thing works. I was able to copy a VERY large castle once, and paste it into a worldspace where the castle spanned about a dozen exterior cells. But, it was a royal pain and the CS crashed dozens of times on me.

Hi thanks for that, I guessed at the duplicate world and rename, I had tried copying cells and had plenty of CS crashes... wondered if that was me, the paste in place option I hadnt used before, my learning project was copying the IC Arena- took me hours to get stuff to the correct hight moving on the z axis from 20,000 feet down haha! Terrain hight editing I find hard, smaller tweaks are fine but the colours representing hight just doesnt come naturally for me, great if I wanted to build an island with huge vertical mountains.. ill get better.

Im off to research quadrants.

Thanks again for the help, if you come across something that can export and import cells between worldspaces excluding the render window please let me know.

Magic wand equiped....... TESCellExporter haha :)
