SpadesNeil
I absolutely hate it when a modder doesn't include the codes for an item they created for the game, such as armor, or weapons, or even ammunition!! How do I figure out manually what the codes are that I need? I already know about the "xx" junk that comes first, it's the rest of the codes that I want. Not all modders include it, so I ask, is there any way to figure out what these codes are? Is there any way to look them up? I'm fairly computer-savvy, so I should be able to find it if there's a file on my C-drive that I gotta open.
WoogieMonster
You can get the ID codes for mod items with the plugin editor in Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM). What mod and item are you trying to get? Can't hurt to say, maybe someone has already dug through and found the IDs.
Sigrave
Also looking for the means to determine console commands for mod items. For me, specifically the weapon mod kits from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3388
WoogieMonster
Open Fallout Mod Manager, on the side click the button that says Plugin Editor. A new window will open, click Files > Open and then select the mod you want to get the ID codes from. The contents of the mod will appear in the left side box in a drop-down tree. When you click the + by the name you will see several more trees with names like GRUP ARMO, GRUP WEAP, GRUP STAT, GRUP FACT, etc etc, They're abbreviations.Click the + by the tree you want (for example if you need a helmet, click GRUP ARMO) and go down the list to find the exact item you need and click it. All the info for that item will then appear in the right side box, including it's ID.If you go through several mods, you might notice that the IDs are sometimes the same, that's normal, just remember that the first two digits must be replaced with the load order number. Sigrave
Awesome, after several minutes of scrolling through code I finally stumbled across the right ID's. Kudos.
apaosha
A far easier and quicker way is to give the item to a companion, go into console, click on the companion and type: showinventory. You can also try player.showinventory ...... however this often doesn't work as your entire inventory including quest items and ammo will be shown - and there doesn't seem to be a way to scroll through it so what you want may not be displayed. Which is why you should give it to a companion ...
