TheHermit84
I'm no 'modder' and you'll probably find all sorts of problems within the esp, but with it being a simple mod and as it worked, I haven't been too concerned about it.
Purr4me
I want you to check something for me, it deals with Chunk size in a mod, sense I see you have this mod installed ? I wonder if you geck the same GECK complaints about Chunk size and possible a GECK crash. Purr4me
I'm no 'modder' and you'll probably find all sorts of problems within the esp, but with it being a simple mod and as it worked, I haven't been too concerned about it.What I intend to do is simple comparison against a raw installed set. but, not with game tools. I use another program to visualize the differences so as not to confuse the issues. call it an outsider visual inspection of the data. IF the data matches? we do it another tried and true way. Raw, fallout3. test.raw Fo3 + 1 DLC at a time. then One mod at a time. until the crash re-occurs. I want your "character" to be stark naked and in god mode. so you don't get killed. even if you find one that posts the bug ,instead of blaming IT, move it completely out of the line of fire, out of the data folder and continue the tests. There is a possiblility the files remaing ...some how got corrupted. But, what i asked still needs to be done.Point Lookout Reborn by Jcro25.esm <------??? TheHermit84
I received no warning about chunk size when opening Point Lookout Reborn by Jcro25.esm in GECK. No crash either...

Purr4me
I've found the culprit! Streelights.esm!!Don't jump too fast, unless you went thru all of the mods already? I will show you why too.http://s26.postimg.org/odkn7cwi1/The_why_is_it.jpgthings don't always seem to be what we think they are, and these bad boy's here are all over the wasteland Street lights uses default bsa archived units, the above shot shows what replaced them and where it came from. http://www.2shared.com/file/iyKGC2qM/Omar1.html Edited June 26, 2014 by Purr4me
TheHermit84
You're right, I won't jump too fast ;)But I decided to do as you said. I disabled EVERYTHING EXCEPT Fallout3.esm and there was no CTD.I did this with all plugins up until the 4th, which is streelights.esm... it CTD. I now have all mods activated with the exception of Streelights.esm and my merge patch.esp.No CTD! But now I'm confused as to why it would crash with streetlights in that area when it was fine several hours before? Very, very, very odd!
Purr4me
You're right, I won't jump too fast :wink:But I decided to do as you said. Very, very, very odd!it's like this. During development, some things I tried to teach some one were taken way out too far with out my knowledge, and the techniques were abused. Miss understood. it's not the *.nif files that are bad, it is what they as a semi plugin "a mesh file depends on textures as it is too , in a way, a plugin"........were compressed using yet another very good tool ,only the author then re compressed them even further down into a bsa archive. when confronted with the facts ,the relationships were broken off. Just as the mesh files them selves break off relations ships with textures not meeting the data listed in the mesh file sizes. Overlooked and uninformed. Jumped the gun as they say. Too eager to get things online. so, there are a lot of mods that will suffer for it. Street lights is a well known mod, has been for a very long time and it never caused CTD's. the data it uses are the problem as the overwrite instructions come from yet another mod made specifically to match these Compressed files and that my friend leaves Streetlight eating dirt. got any ideas as to approach the UN-approachable? I am all ears. so, you decide what you want to do, I said enough already.kitty
Billy1969
Streetlights? Holy cow, I would never have suspected it could have anything to do with that, I use that for years, I merged it even with the addendum to streetlights and never got a problem with it ever. Sometimes I get a headache trying to figure out kitty's posts, don't take this badly lol, it's because I am not an english native speaker and all that tech stuff makes my head spin, but I think I got there is something wrong with a .bsa file also? Anyway, personally I can testify that every mod that uses .bsa archives in my load order I unpacked the files into my regular folders and deleted all .bsa's except for the official Bethesda ones and since I did that the occasional crash I had reduced to almost nihil, also load times became faster in between exteriors and interiors, so from then on, goodbye bsa files :) Edited June 26, 2014 by Billy1969
TheHermit84
I too get a little headache from trying to decipher Kitty's posts, however, I like her style and it's clear she's very informative, so I respect all the help you've provided, Kitty :) My streetlights doesn't use BSA though?I'm not even sure what the problem is. I've been to the raider encampment a couple of times in this playthrough and all was fine. Now I return it suddenly causes CTD.That to me IS weird and doesn't make me think of a meshes problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling the mod made no difference either. the data it uses are the problem as the overwrite instructions come from yet another mod made specifically to match these Compressed files and that my friend leaves Streetlight eating dirt.So you're saying another mod in my load order is overwriting and misdirected links between streelight's meshes?
