wizardmirth
If you played Morrowind, how would you compare these games with no mods to one another? If you coud live with only one game, would it still be Morrowind? I'm hesitant because of Oblivion. They made it just right so that people will endlessly mod it, not that I'm saying that was their goal or anything (actually it was to make something people who never heard of Morrowind would play). Morrowind needs little to no modding. Oblivion needs tons of it because it's like an embarassing relative you love but need to make over. What about DA? brokenergy
If you're one of those people who loves Baldor's Gate series, or Kotor series, then this game is for you. It is very dialog driven and the story is one of the best to come out in awhile. It isn't open ended or sandbox type like Morrowind but with the lack of freedom you can make up with the dialog. Obtain the PC version as it is in better standard than the 360 and PS3 versions. This game is up there with Morrowind but they are no way similar in any sort. DA doesn't need to be modded excessively like Oblivion and it is in very high quality. The only negative is the lack of different armour and weapon models but it is excellent. Lookimscared
The mods for Dragon Age are more for making characters ridiculously OP'd, or naked. And tweaks to hair, faces, etc. There are some little mods that I use and find VERY useful but ar not NEEDED persaeI would suggest playing through once without using mods. =)
Sinophile
In addition to being two somewhat different types of rpgs, they were also released three years apart. Dragon Age IMHO is what the Neverwinter Nights series should've been. It is the first RPG that I managed to squeeze 100 hours out of on one playthrough. I never really got into Morrowind, even though I liked Daggerfall. Oblivion is more of a pc game than DA, in the sense it has a little more depth, and is less cinematic. If we are going to compare Bethesda to Bioware, why not compare Fallout 3 to Mass Effect?
