zprospero
Wow, I can't believe I forgot about ebony ore. Savor the flavor, Kieran, cause there's no chance in hell I'll let it happen again. So, here's what real obsidian look likes (which sounds like it IS ebony ore in the TES universe): A variety.http://www.pitt.edu/~cejones/GeoImages/2IgneousRocks/IgneousTextures/6Glassyz/Obsidian4PiecesOnBrick.jpghttp://www.psibertrip.com/geology/igneous/Obsidian%202.jpghttp://www.gemselect.com/other-info/graphics/obsidian-rough.jpg
kieranfoy
Those are gorgeous samples, Zprospero. A castle made of that would be rocking.

zprospero
Well, I'm just anxious to see what ub3rman has done so far. Such textures would be awesome, but understandably problematic.
ub3rman123
I keep getting the message "THere is an error with your BBCode." when trying to add an image. I hit the add image button then pasted the URL from photobucket. What'm I doing wrong?
ub3rman123
Hmm, this didn't work..http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/?action=view¤t=ScreenShot24.jpg%5Dleft
zprospero
It does that from time to time. Why don't you post the image URL and I'll see if I can make it work, then I'll post the code and you can see if something was off? One thing that gets me a lot is you can't have any spaces, even before or after the URL. So:;This would work [img=http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=183922&st=50&start=50] ;This wouldn't [img= http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=183922&st=50&start=50]
ub3rman123
Okay, here's 5 images I've taken. The main gate http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...creenShot24.jpgOverview http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...creenShot25.jpgMy idea of how to build a wall http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...creenShot26.jpgCentral spire (Globe goes here) http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...creenShot27.jpgThe courtyard http://s1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...creenShot28.jpg I've just taken the Telvanni tileset, applied the oblivion texture for smooth rock, so you'll have to make pretend it's all sparkly veins of crystal and gilded ebony. zprospero
Okay, let's see if the BBCode works for me.http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot24.jpghttp://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot25.jpghttp://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot26.jpghttp://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot27.jpghttp://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot28.jpg Down in the left bar of the photobucket page that has your image there's a 'share this image'section that has the IMG code written for you. Click there and copy that to display like this. The forum does give you some trouble with BBCode every now and again though. A nice unique looking landscape. I particularly like the mass of tentacle like roots. Sortof makes it like you're walking through a dense spooky forest, very appropriate for Nocturnal. I have some unique lighting that I'm going to try and test out, so I'll get back to you with some of that. For some other unique textures, if you feel you need them, I've found a free site, they require a little mentionfor the use of their textures, but they are free. Perhaps you can find something here that might help you: GRSites Texture Archive More reliable than my attempts, no doubt.
ub3rman123
I looked on that site. Here's a couple that could be used. http://static3.grsites.com/archive/textures/marb/marb039.gif http://static3.grsites.com/archive/textures/marb/marb144.jpgThis would work with some darkening, so it's black and blue crystal.
