kieranfoy
I like the idea. One thing. Personally, I would think Nocturnal's plane would have a black sky. No clouds, no stars, nothing. Is is possible to make a whle new sky? Regardless, the default Oblivon sky won't do. Also... wow. If that's a placeholder, I can't wait to see the finished product. ub3rman123
Hmph, the coding worked that time. An odd and unpredictable beast. A black sky? I\'ll check. Sounds easy enough to do, just need to use the blackbox texture on a new sky. Edit: Okay, couldn\'t get the sky solid black, but here\'s how it looks minus the electric volcano clouds of explody death. Seems I've properly messed up poor Peryite's realm now. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/...pg?t=1266627022
zprospero
Well that looks good to me. Perpetual nighttime. Now about that lighting I was talking about. From the book "Purloined Shadows": As they sang, the glow of the torch began to change. It did not diminish at all, but its color became more and more grey, so it seemed a pulsating wave of ash had fallen on the witches. Then it grew darker still, so that for a moment, though the fire yet burned, it was darkest night in the forest. The penumbra continued until the torch was burning with a color without a name, emptiness beyond mere blackness. It cast a glow, but it was an unnatural scintillation falling on the witches. Their robes of white became black. The Dunmer among them had eyes of green, and ivory white flesh. The Nords appeared black as coal. The crows watching overhead were as pure white as the witches' cloaks. The Daedra Princess Nocturnal stepped out of the pit of uncolor. A temp of the Throne of Nocturnal (Testing the lighting)http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz84/zprospero/Unlight.jpg I HAZ UNLIGHT! My Imperial is coal black BECAUSE of the light source and if you walk away it changes back to normal! I used the red for effect, as predictably, unlight doesn't make it easy to see. When I get an appropriate system worked out for using this I'll post about it again. Just wanted to show it off.

ub3rman123
Excellent lighting, I wonder if it'd be possible to make a 'negative lighting' system (It sounds like that's what it does in the passage), with light for shadows and dark from candles. Probably would make too much lag. Ah, if possible, could the room for Nocturnal's Throne be more spherical? I've never though the castle interior architecture to be good for anything other than mundane castles.
zprospero
Oh, yeah. I just copied the Count of Skingrad's throne room. That was solely for testing out this lighting. It's actually an Negative light, so like a black light, unfortunately it doesn't light up things. So what you're talking about is possible. I'll do some more testing and get back to you. But, yeah, the throne room was just to be dramatic, Nocturnal's throne room should fit her realm, and clearly this doesn't. ub3rman123
Okay, I'll play around with those texture samples I posted earlier to see what I can make of 'em, and once that is done the actual work can begin on the keep. How big does this place have to be?
ub3rman123
I have an idea for the ebony texture.. Why don't we just slice a small chunk of the vanilla ebony and run it through GIMP to make it tile-able?
zprospero
Well, I could do that, possibly, but if we do that I can almost guaranteeit won't tile very well. I've tried that with the dwarven armor and there'salways a noticeable seam about it. I'll try it, though.
ub3rman123
This seems to tile well. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/EbonyTile.jpg?t=1266675989
